Is anyone else worried that the characters in P5 might be weak, or parodied in a way?

Soejima talked about when designing PQ and how characters have changed over the years, and like originally Elizabeth wore a pink dress, which isn't a thing she would've done years ago. Likewise both P3 and P4 protags had personalities that were in a way inspired by the community. And how he has a secret new role in P5.

With how the Arena games were and how PQ ones were parodies of themselves do you think Atlus has the potential to make another game in the same league as the old ones?

I think it's more a case of with P3/4, the characters are done. They had their arcs. When you make a spin-off of established characters you don't really have anywhere else to go. Maybe if they gave a spin-off to a character we didn't know very well, like Theo or something, there'd be new ground to tread.

With P5, it's fresh characters who need to be fleshed out first. You can't exaggerate a character until that character actually has a personality to exaggerate.

People are going to complain that P5 has a bunch of cliches though, to which I will reply: Welcome to the world of fiction. Everything has been done, everything's a cliche, and there is nothing new under the sun. All that matters is if it manages to be entertaining in doing so.
