Varric's not as bad as everyone says, but he is worst rogue (and arguably worst companion) simply because if you want to keep him with Bianca the spec is suboptimal, whereas even an archer/tempest sera will do better and you can spec everyone else into something appropriately OP thanks to their lack of unique weapon preference.

That said, he's fine as a standard companion on sub-nightmare difficulty. you can take up the slack by micromanaging him or whatever. Smartest move if you're min-maxing is to spec him as a dagger rogue and actually make use of the artificier's specialties, but whatever.

Cass, Solas and Dorian have been fine without babysitting. Viviane while a KE does nothing unless you hold her hand.

It's unfortunate that Sera couldn't have been some type of "intelligent" anarchist. Maybe instead of being there for hijinks she was slowly starting to win over the hearts and minds of your followers and you'd have to deal with that. You could have to judge her in the aftermath of putting down a rebellion. Hell killing her might make her some sort of martyr. I dunno seems like a wasted opportunity.

Also, sorry josefags, but her saying that the winter palace was more dangerous than staring down Corypheus pissed me off to no end. At least there should've been a follow up where you could tell her off about how ignorant she was. Talk about ivory tower shit.

I think it would've been better if Blackwall was actually a joined warden, but for some reason he didn't link up with the rest of the wardens on account of some sort of guilt complex. Hell the assumed name would still work too. He could've gone and tried his whole redemption thing too. The real meat would be that you'd have to find a way to prevent Corypheus from possessing him. And learn more about the based wardens.

At a recent talk, BW openly said Frostbyte is the worst fucking engine for actual RPG stuff. It was able to make things look pretty but they spent a great deal of their development time making stat-ups, the ability to quick save and manual save at all, leveling up in the field, and so on actually be able to work.

From what we can piece together:

Solas locked the other god and went to sleep. Mythal was already dead by that time. When he woken up he saw his plan backfired and the people were worse than before, but he he was too weak to use his orb. Blah, blah, broken orb backfired again dead wolf you're a failure. So he went to Mythal to acquire her power so he can achieve his plan of restoring the old gods and probably removing the veil.

Walking fortress is amazing. I'd be hardpressed to not pick that up on a non-champion warrior.

Well, I had a bug with the war table with one of the missions not having any options of appointing it to any of the advisors and that actually got fixed.
But the patch also sort of messed with some of the colors and textures, like my Quiz now has lighter hair than she did and the world around her, or at least the forest I'm in right now looks like an LSD trip with too bright colors.

I liked navigating menus much more with the mouse than with the controller, it was built for a controller and it shows, but it's still easier and faster with the mouse regardless.

As for holding down left mouse to attack, no it doesn't bug me nearly as much as holding down right trigger to attack.
