I dunno if I expect free roam sandbox-esque world, but P3 basically had a background with stairs/doors/etc > fade to black > new background
P4 took that and gave it more than a single screen, so hopefully we'll see a larger scope of that, but hopefully if they do that we'll have a way to run faster. Or maybe enter the same area from different points, starting you out at different entrances depending where you came from.

I actually played P4 first than P3, and while I loved the IT, as I played P3 I noticed much more depth in the characters and in many of them there was an actual arc that played in the story over time, in P4 even if you maxed every social link, while the IT was togheter there really was nothing different in how they acted from before doing before you maxed them.
Best example is Mitsuru and Yukari's friendship, nothing like that in P4
