As a separate question, I'm also missing a piece of armor that would complete the cosplay, but it the fucking thing will not goddamn drop. What about that?

To the guy I was arguing with a while ago about life +2 vs quartz +2.

If you're using a weapon without innate elemental damage then infusing it will get it 50/50 split before the buff. When buffing if the weapon is at 116.66/116.66 you'll end up with a 35/65 split (116.66/216.66). Below 11.6 favors elemental damage, above favors physical. Since most weapons will definitely be above that point you'll still need a lot of resistance before quartz +2 surpassing life +2. For example a chaos blade is 175/175, after a buff the split is 37/63 (175/292.5). Of course this isn't counting scaling.

Either way, like you said, once you lose the bonus health from life +2 swapping to a quartz +2 is always better.

Starting my second character, going dex and int, a few questions

What strength level should I go for as a minimum to wield weapons early on? I am stuck with the dagger atm

What do I need to know as a beginner to sorceries?

Also are there any covenants that go well with dex/int?

By the way guys, if you use buffs, you can cycle in the ring that increases buff duration when you cast the buff and cycle in another ring and keep the bonus buff duration. There's basically no reason not to do this other than laziness

Always stay away from Iron keep; there's some better summons at Heide's and I've had really good invasions at the Tseldora campsite

That campsite should've really been the go-to place for duels, summons don't need to travel too far, there's a bonfire nearby, and the environment is good for battles.

Pyromancy is a complementary magic.
You aren't really meant to go 30/30 with it, that's just the best spread for using Pyromancy with other magic.

Pyromancy can be used by any character, but is especially effective with people who are already casters, because of how Fire bonus works.
It''s not that much of a loss to go 1/8.

I think it must be fucked up, with 50 attunement and 40/40 for faith and int on my build, I have nearly 300 cast speed.

If you've actually got the build made in DaS 2, press Y/Triangle on your equipment screen and it should give you your current cast speed. Make sure you are hovering over no equipment when you press Y though

Guard break recovery is much faster than after a parry. If you guard break someone, you need to riposte him quickly or he'll roll away. With a parry you can change your weapon, go drink a cup of tea and he'll still be on the ground.

Aside from being terribly unoptimized, can anyone tell me what rings and maybe what spells might help this build?

I've considered gower's because my spells can be easily punished by a backstab, and at that health and defense, backstabs are generally always a kill. But gower's weighs so much that nothing short of raising VIT can bring me under 50%, and I don't want to mess around with stats. Considered waiting for the magic and fire clutch rings, but I'm uncertain.

As for spells, I've always had mixed feelings about them. Affinity bait to css can end a fight, though at times it feels like it can be too easily avoided. There's a wog for that if they get too close. Some people don't expect that, and it kills them. I heard good things about fireball to forbidden fun, but have yet to try it. The slot cost is pretty damn high, and sometimes it feels like it barely does any damage. Blinding bolt gets praised, along with heavenly thunder, but I barely ever managed to make great use of them. Often paid with a backstab for it. HHSA is just good, and soul greatsword works through walls and can be used as a follow up after guard breaks.

Not using weapons or shields. That's just silly. Sometimes bashing people with the staff or pyromancy flame can help.

Ok, nevermind, I actually changed the name of one of my other characters that had the same name, so both if both characters were named "fag" I changed one of them to "faggot", so in char select both were "faggot", then when I used the other and reestarted the name it probably reverted the name back to "fag".

I just freaked out.
