Well, i finally did it. I found and beaten all the fiends in SMT4. I had to solo trumpeter for the last fiend. Overall, i enjoyed fighting the fiends but the searching i can do without. I got really lucky only spent about an hour searching for each fiend.

I don't think I've ever seen what I think is a legitimate complaint about a persona game, just something like "Persona 4 is shit because the gameplay is shit".

I've seen plenty of valid complaints leveled at P4, mostly to do with the atmosphere, characters and dungeons.

As for Raidou, the first one's combat isn't fantastic but it's bearable, while the second massively improves the combat by making it less clunky and faster in general.

The tone, story, and characters in P4 are all pretty bad compared to the other Persona games. It's still a fun game though. The gameplay (and by that, I mean combat system) is the best in the Persona series.

While the dungeons weren't exactly great, they weren't that bad either. It's really just the over all feel of the game. It was way too happy happy.

The feel of the game was definitely different from the others but I really liked how much of a change of pace it was. Proved to me that they weren't afraid to try something completely different. Plus a lot of the subtext implied a dark sort of undertone, since everyone must be a pretty sadistic son of a bitch deep down to have Ameno Sagiri show up to fix things. Even towards the end when shit hit the fan with the fog and everything pretty much every npc was concerned only with themselves, even when classmates and teachers started ending up murdered.

4G is widely regarded as the best entry point into the series, but P3P isn't entirely agreed upon. A lot of people will advise playing FES instead for dat 3D and dat Answer. It's also the first time they used social links and the mechanics behind them aren't very good in any edition of the game. Worth a play for veterans, but I've known it to be very off-putting to newcomers.

They're good starting points since they're easy and will familiarize you with the spell names and fusion, but you need to keep in mind that they're basically VNs with bad dungeon crawling tacked on.
They are also slow games, P4 for instance, has a 2-hour long section of nothing but dialogue before the tutorial fight.

You should be around the point where you can get Divine Shot, or at least the Magatama Divine Shot is on, so I'd recommend replacing one of your other physical skills with it. Divine Shot's crit rate is obscenely high, and it looks cool as hell.
I think it's on an Expel-type Magatama though, so rev up those Mudo-related game overs. You'll also want to consider either getting Fog Breath or Taunt on Demi-fiend, or somehow getting them on your demons. Taunt+Dekaja is such a handy combo.

What are some fun gimmick builds to try in SMT? Any game is fine.

Vi/Ag +Stone Multistrike build wrecks everything in DeSu2, even stuff immune to Curse because of the sheer amount of hits Multistrike deals. Maybe throw in a Force Dance if something gets petrified and survives the barrage. You won't even need Pierce because most things that get petrified will get shattered by the rest of the hits anyway.

Lu builds are pretty good in any game since Lu effects so much stuff. I hear it's really good in SH and I can personally recommend it for DDS. Glass cannon builds are also good in any game for MAXIMUM POWER.
