I'm really enjoying it. You pretty much summed it up, yeah. It is timed which makes it a bit more difficult so that's good. The labyrinths are really well designed and fun(of course the earlier ones are easier and less complex). The layers give it a cool 3D effect despite the fact that I'm emulating it. Plus, I've always liked Pyro Jack so it's fun to play as him. All in all a fun little time sink if you're a fan of SMT.

I always tried to have a healer in every team. I also miss-matched the demons based on the skills of the leaders. So put magic based demons with Atsuro who was physical and physical demons with Yuzu. MC's team was always a boss killer team full of magic of as many elements as possible.

Making a team specifically for healing is just a bad idea imo since they'd have to run across the board and risk getting in fights they can't win jsut to heal a team that could've healed themselves.

Pokémon has always had localized names in every single localization, and it's a huge part of its charm. It's part of the charm of most Nintendo franchises.
Hell, I even started a project to translate every single critter! Because of the 1st gen translators we have the English names for them and the Kanto NPCs, and shit like 'Contador'. Frenchies and Germans have everything localized, so why not us?
It was mostly for giggles, and I only have a spreadsheet with the changed names.

But this is a pretty different case. It's like translating 'chair' to 'silla'. Almost all of them are very small changes because they are mostly specific figures with different names because of phonetics, so it's not like you won't know that Odín is Odin.

The coolest name I came up with was Alfilado, because Bisharp comes from Bishop and Sharp, and Alfilado from Alfil (Bishop) and Afilado (Sharp). It's perfect!
The idea was to at least make a hackrom of Red and Blue with the first 151, but some names were really awkward and I forgot about it.

Probably get a 3DS for Persona Q if you really liked 3 and 4. Overclocked was also really good, I wasn't too big of a fan of Soul Hackers. SMT4 is divisive around here, but what the hell isn't divisive with SMT fans. Most people would say Nocturne next, which is probably a good place to go. Plus all of the PS2 SMT games are now up on PSN and all of them are at least somewhat good.

The 3DS is a sweet console in and of itself. Speaking of SMT specifically, it has SMTIV, Devil Survivor Overclocked and Soul Hackers, and futurely Devil Survivor 2 Break Record and Persona Q.

SMTIV is possibly a good place for you to start the rest of the SMT series since it was made with beginners in mind, but I don't really like it as much as others in the main series. Devil Survivor is also a good place to start the better series and generally better written although the gameplay ticks me off. Leave Soul Hackers until you're well into the series.
