Do you guys think speedrunning has a chance to become a thing in vidya-adjacent genres, some of which inspired it originally? I look kinda nostalgically on a lot of forms of non-electronic entertainment I used to experience as a kid before electronics really took off, and there were plenty of games and books and all that that kind of kicked your ass in a way that I think would be satisfying to have broken the way speedrunning usually does.

I found the video of this guy, and I actually think this is kind of neat, especially with a book as famous as that one. He kind of rushes himself to read and thus chokes up a lot but it's pretty neat to see and doesn't seem too nominally different from your average run. Would honestly love to see something like this for ginormous books like the Diamond Key.
