Sec is supposed to be flashy and noticeable. They're supposed to say 'STOP! POLICE! GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! STOP RESISTING!' to pretty much all in their presence.

I can agree that if circumstances merit a more stealthy approach, there should be a uniform for that. Again, I mentioned SWAT as an acceptable use for the blue color scheme.

But the average patrolman should be a redshirt. He must announce his presence loud and proud, and he should not be mistaken for any other occupation on the station. There should be no doubt someone is a sec officer.

Sec is read because it's a reference back to when all departments had only color-coded jumpsuits, which were a reference to star trek

Sec is the disposable cannon fodder that dies to show to the main character that shit has gotten serious, nothing more. Sec actually being able to do things and having a fucking armory is power creep that everyone forgot was actually power creep, like how the janitor used to ONLY be able to clean with a mop and bucket.

Well there's lava, obviously.
Then there's periodic ash storms that burn you to death if you don't have a better suit than the one miners get issued at the start. You have to deploy shelters to survive them.
There's ashwalkers (indigenous lizard guys) that are a ghost role and use spears and stuff. They're antags to the miners and the station crew.
And then there's megafauna that are basically boss monsters with big sprites.

I like playing borg / AI, and I often visit a roboticist if I don't get either at roundstart.

Mining mechs are only good for stripmining, although I've recently found that the APLUs are actually REALLY GOOD for moving massive amounts of crates.
Also found that the mech-mounted RCD is actually pretty handy when you're trying to mass-remove floors for construction projects.
Combat mechs are cool as siege equipment, but that's it. Not really worth it for sec in any case. Police gygaxes on the other hand are hilarious. Especially when equipped with posibrains and all-access.

I like the idea of a brig doc. Warden could use the company. My own concern is balance - sniping off officers in medbay is one of the few ways you can get rid of them as antag without causing a huge fuss due to the SPS crutch. By bypassing the danger of unaccompanied officers getting got by malpractice, you do kinda give security a small, minor increase in ability.
Gotta be careful with meta powercreep like that.

I like it from a roleplay perspective. The gameplay concern is minor - brig doesnt have full medical suites so it isnt a huge issue. Its just something to keep in mind when creating content. Look forward to the pull request if you code it.
