Im who you responded to, Raven is probably best, but I dont play Yoshi or know a ton about steve. She is fun and unconventional but has many classic more universalTekken tools like a great df1, CH launcher 4, etc. She has unique stances and ninja shit, great spacing/mindgames character. I think she's best of the 3 for you. Buuuut give a normal character a shot too since you're new they might still be really fun for you and you can always take up someone else later

Learning timing to counterhit

Jin you learn
Execution in the form of electrics, wavedash, and cancelling
Using a i13 high rage art
Launching with a ws14 launcher
Learning to bait ch's
How to apply pressure with even less plus frames.
Mishima style mixups with hellsweep that transitions to various characters
Having strong standing punishers for every frame

It's well thought out on who I chose to be good learning characters.. just cuz you have a mindset to get better doesn't mean you will. U can't just play a character like Steve and get better because he lacks such crucial tools that tekken characters have universally. Yoshi and Maven play very bizarre and almost rely on your knowledge of your character to be superior than the opponents, not fundamental knowledge of the game.

After you get a good grip at the basics go ahead play whoever you want.

Knee plays every single character because he knowledge of the game is on a different level. He understands tekken. He plays every character because it's his JOB to play tekken and stream all day playing.

Let's say you're a green rank. U can beat up on silver ranks all day right. That's only 2 colours below you.. knee is a gold rank player. His knowledge of the game is unreal. He's been a pro player for 10+ years. The fact you even bring him up and use an example for a noob at the game speaks volumes of your understanding as a tekken player.

You can't get better at tekken at a fundamental level and understand tekken concepts playing maven over jin. No matter how much you want to get better. It's better to start off with a base then do what u want with characters you find interesting.
