Damn, I just beat Strange Journey finally for the first time and while it may sound rash I think this may be one of, if not, my favorite game ever.

The good
>demon co-op is a fun sysytem that can't be as abused as press turn and makes the player consider the alignment as well.
>dungeons are great, their designs are pretty fun and they take on interesting themes that make them feel unique
>strong cast in the red sprite crew. Jimenez and Zelenin feel like some of the better chaos and law representatives. Gore and Arthur as the neutral representatives was also a cool choice instead of a heroine
>great soundtrack. Orchestra is a bit over done now but Meguro did something really interesting with it and made a imposing and militaristic sounding soundtrack

As the world's biggest motherfag I am genuinely happy that the series is over. Itoi is a bit older now so I think he's kind just enjoying life now. Nintendo has been kind of shitty with their IPs lately and I would die if mother ever became something like a shitty mobile game like FE. Itoi is a real inspiration to me, I'm glad he was able to make the games he wanted to the best of his ability. M2 and M3 went through bad development hell but he still delivered the best games he could and I really respect him for that.

SJ has one of the more extreme views on alignments, both literally brainwashing but in two flavors of "ecksties greatest hits" and delphinus (and mission control sending you with mkultra guns just for good measure) though.

Personally I just find Persona 1 kind of weak. I think it lacks the polish of many other SMT games in my opinion. Good but not great. Give it a shpt though if you're interested though.

On BF7 there is a elevator that takes you to F1. If you need to grind exp BF7 has a save point and healing station next to each which is helpful. If you want to grind macca kill the parakeet fuck for enigma clay. For forma on BF8 two of the special enemy spawns so what back and forth on that floor and just go up or down one of the staircases and pray to RNGesus for the 2% spawns.

If possible make the meteor dragoon, I personally feel it's the best gun in the game. One attack it does does heavy almighty damage to all enemies and combined with a save and healing point close by this makes grinding exp a breeze. A single enigma clay sells for 19,000 macca and the enemy that drops it has a high appearance rate so grind those. I went overborad and leveled myself to level 88. Level 80-83 should be good for Mem Aleph.

I just beat Minotaur. On Hard. At level 12. With Walter. What a fight, every Labrys Strike miss was asshole clenching.

Few played it. Most seem to not really like it though seem to not like it. The game has a bpnus route that completely changes the game though so it's kind of a weird case. The first time you play you can choose to side with the law, chaos, or neutral representative and get a slightly different story depending on who you side. After beating it once a new character you can side with is open to you and you get basically a new game.

WORLD OF STRENGTH with some points in vitality and agility for the protagonist, magic does literally nothing for him if I remember right. Not really. You know how some games are kind of forgotten when they're not the newest title in the series? I feel that will probably happen to IV:A. It will be that one game that no one says is their favorite and kind of rarely sees discussion.

As a actual game the only truly amazing aspect is the combat which it better be being the most important part. The combat here is arguably the best in the series and that alone should keep you playing. Sadly just about everything else falls flat. The story and characters are a fucking joke. They are so cliche and annoying that you feel basically no attachment, You know how people complain that everyone sucks Yu's dick in P4? It's the same here other then Gaston and Dagda. Choice has basically no real impact here either. You are either "baby raping cunt" or "literally flawless mary sue" in your choices with no inbetween. Law and chaos are treated as a fucking joke. Not even going to cover the overall plot, it's retarded as fuck. Soundtrack is good but it recycles a lot from IV so there's that.

I say play it but I don't see myself really ever returning to it often like many other SMT games.

Basically the game has this generic love interest that is pushed on you the entire game. She's a childhood friend, she does the whole "cute and shy" personality, acts jealous of all the other girls, all that bullshit. At one point she sacrifices herself to save you. The scene she dies in is literally over the top blood with the most hilarious sound effects. Then like a hour later the game says "LOL we'll revive her".

Just watch the scene, it's at 12:15, I can't describe how stupid it is. IV:A hassome good combat so if that alone can keep you I suggest it for that reason at least.

The thing about the partners in IV:A is that it shits on both them and Dagda's motivation. The partners have literally no personalities and conflict making them unmemorable. Not only that but Dagda complains that they will only hinder you when literally nothing they do in the game ever hinders you. They literally do nothing but help you both in and out of battle. It makes Dagda's ramblings make no sense.

I'm trying to stay neutral and have been choosing neutral dialogue options but after a Mastema encounter i'm suddenly law aligned. is there an easy way to lower my alignment or do i just need to wait for another story beat where i can make more chaos answers?

Near the end of the game a certain choice will make you heavily lean towards law or chaos, there is no neutral answer to this choice. For a sector you will end up the alignment of whatever choice you choose so be aware of that. Close to the end a character will ask two important questions and this is really where it matters. As long as you don't heavily lean towards either side by answering the questions with the two quite obvious neutral questions you will be guarenteed locked into neutral so don't worry too much, just try not to lean towards a side when answering questions.

No it isn't. If anything it is more polished than previous games including mainline ones. IVA is polished but it really need to sort stuff up accordingly. It didn't take up too many important spaces. If IV and IVA aren't in DS console, the UI would be a fucking disaster, it will take up a lot of space more than what you see in P5. That's a comparison.
