My political maneuvering in general has been really weak. Only reliable ally is Austria, currently I also have Castille (getting rekt by rebellious subjects supported by all their neighbors basically) and small-ass Trier who was some time invaded by Austria-backed Baden (who also blocks some provinces needed to form Germany). If it was up to me, I would make it so that armies do not necessarily engage when in the same province, unless ordered to do so. Instead they begin a series of skirmishes that slowly escalate to a pitched battle.

I've yet to do succesfull Horde run in EU4, what are some tips? Early game is what I'm having trouble with.

I've tried Timurids->Mughals and failed repeatedly. Admittedly many failures were due to player errors in the like of "I'll just give Persians some more autonomy when rebels hit 80%" and then "oopsie I forgot, now there are 30k rebels." One time I could've possibly pulled this off if I had had free diplomat to instantly declare war on Delhi after truce expired before they can join coalition. If I try this again before they completely rework the are I'll probably consider trucebreaking if I can from Mughals after the war as I can then make Persia into vassal (that hopefully doesn't immediately get everybody support their independence) if they seem to be getting too many rebels.

It's unironically not. It's HOI4, followed by vanilla EU4 and then followed by CK2. If you want to play CK2 I'd recommend playing as a HRE count and focusing on slowly acquiring duchies and cultivating your dynasty instead. Don't play with a king/emperor because its too hard to manage the vassals for a newbie

I once MOOR'D North Africa and thought we (me and Ottomans as ally) destroyed Mamluks. At one point the map opened up to Indian Ocean and saw that Mamluks had one province in small island of Diego Garcia south of India.
Then later on I backstabbed Ottomans and and released Mamluks back to action (and vassalised them) from Ottoman lands, I checked map and during the time Mamluks were banished to that little island they managed colonise most of Papua New-Guinea.

I added a negative penalty to one of their National Ideas which heavily reduces production/tax because that resulted into building spam which then resulted into an exponential growth of about 300-400 ducats per month income by 1600 due to how Urbanization works in M&T. I'm trying to balance it right now so it doesn't lead to their collapse but also prevents the exponentially growing "20% urbanization in 1600" Ming, and also to make them actually somewhat defeatable if you play as a nation next to them (in vanilla M&T, they get about 4-5mil manpower in a century and it becomes pretty much physically impossible to defeat them as Korea for an example)

I found a very wierd bug in the latest HPM – somehow Netherlands keep getting a lot of prestige in a very linear fashion. It is something like 4 prestige per day and I can´t find an obvious reason. If I tag into that nation it stops, but when I tag back it starts again, any ideas how to fix it?

You could colonize america as far east cultures with the old system too. In fact, that was reccomended, as it'd get you a border with whatever european countries were colonizing america, thus letting you westernize faster.
