When you have a good opener your WR against exodia mage is probably almost 90% - look at pirate warrior whose winrate is 85% because it nearly always has a good opener vs exodia. This means that if druid/paladin is shown with a WR of 65%, then the matchup with a slow start is actually kinda bad to cause a loss of 20-something percentile points relative to the highroll. Assuming 50% good hands and 50% bad hands, games where you don't instantly steamroll would be 60-40 in favor of exodia mage, which seems to match my impression as a mage player.

Casual has a different MMR than ranked I think. So if you win too much you'll start facing tons of Jade Druids.

This deck is damn horrible.

Jaina is your strongest card. You should build around her and play elementals, starting from Fireflys. Wyrms+Fireflys is to counter early aggro too.

Drop Mirror images those are not tempo, they only stall. Ghastly Conjurer is same thing. It's good for generating spells for quest mage and stalling. If you want better tempo play secret mage with Arcanologist, Mirror Entities, Counterspells, Kirin Tor Mages and Crystalrunners

Drop Fishermen. Mage generally doesn't need more spell damage. You use Frost Bolts for low removal, Fireballs with bigger+face and Meteor for hard work. Volcanic Pot for AOE. Firelands is good, but doesn't support your other stuff. Blazecaller has similar effect, is elemental and heals for 5 too when you have DK hero out. Flame Geyser is ok due elementals.

Additionally you don't have card draw. Mage generally doesn't have good draw, but has Babbling book, Shimmering Tempest, Cabalist Tome and other stuff to generate random spells. Unfortunately random spell generation got nerfed when we got shit spells like Glacial Mysteries in Frozen throne. So mage is stuck with Acolytes if you want to draw Jaina in time. Therefore you might want to include other win condition, like Medivh, or Burgly Bully+Antonidas.
And since that is slow, you might want to have Ice Blocks. And if you have secrets you include Arcanologists.

I don't think it's too much to ask for consistency. If they are going to nerf certain cards/archetypes because they are single player and don't require any interaction, then apply it to every class instead of only one. Of course that won't happen because mage is the Mary Sue class who is allowed to have stuff other classes can't have.

It's a judgement call but usually vs. shit like priest, warrior, or warlock where they have really good board clear you just have to go for it. If you try to play around brawl all of your minions just get shield slammed/executed etc. Take the unfavorable match ups and force your opponent to have the answers right now and if they do just take the loss. If they don't, you've just beat the odds. Unfavorable match ups in this game especially just come down to hoping your opponent draws like shit. Very skillful stuff.
