How are you guys not burnt out from all the grinding?

It's just too time consuming. I expected it but my nostalgia made me give it a go. After 6 weeks I just don't feel like playing anymore. Manually clicking on all the duelists to auto-duel several times every day to slowly level up your character, farming the event duelist several times every day for the week of the event, getting the 100 PvP wins each season, waiting 8 hours for the card trader to update, grinding to get enough gold, UR/SR and attribute gems, barely getting any gems past the first weeks of playing, the card you want being in one of the last packs, waiting for an event to happen again... it's all so tiresome. The worst thing is that the game doesn't really let you take a break. After all what limited cards are you going to miss out on! When you have to adjust so much to the game you are not playing the game but the game is playing you.

I understand where you're coming from, but it's really not as bad as you're saying. It sounds like you're looking at DL as more of a single player game that should be beaten as fast as possible, when it's more like a MMO, it's going to be slow and steady & you never "beat the game"

Why do you need to level up chars right away? Barring fish decks, toons, etc, you don't need the LV up cards. Just go at your own pace, there's no reason to rush to duel every SD every day. I have most of my chars at LV35+, and I just duel the SDs during events so I also get the event currency.

The gate events are pretty fun, since you're nearly guaranteed to get the rewards. Roaming duelists can suck a dick though, and konami will probably change these for the better soon

There's no getting around this one. If you don't enjoy PvP in duel links, yeah the 100 wins will seem horrible. But I dunno what to say, if you don't enjoy pvp, then there's really nothing to be said.

Same with char lv ups, you really don't NEED any card trader cards, barring a few (cerb, hammer shark, riryoku, etc). It's frustrating to have to wait, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Just by dueling SDs and doing events, you should be good on all 3. Again, it's not a single player game that should be beaten ASAP. You can't spend currency on cards you don't need.

If the decks are complete (I'm assuming you got 3 of each of the important DoD cards), you can certainly reach KoG with both decks and neither require Sphere Kuriboh. For Phoenix, Planet Pathfinder is a good enough substitute so that you get less dead hands.

You definitely need at least 1-2 SK for a Phoenix deck. Running Cards of the Soul is pretty much required, meaning you need to protect your LP. You could probably sub in regular kuribo, but SK is better.

Naturia should be fine with 2 SRH as long as you still have 3 econ and 1-2 mirror wall

If you have 2-3 Anti-Magic Arrows for Naturia, you can 100% reach KoG with it. It won't be trivial since you don't have Restart and the deck is quite bricky even with Pineapple, but with 2 AMA 2 SRH 3 ECon (I'd go 3 AMA personally) you have pretty much the perfect Naturia deck, and Naturia is at least tier 1.5. Phoenix is a bit more consistent and thus stronger, but also a bit more expensive, and though Planet Pathfinder is fair, Sphere Kuriboh is ideal.

I started this Monday so yeah, also out of luck, but I got introduced to this one by a cousin who happened to have 3 AMA, and after playtesting I'm not sure I'd run anything else. Naturia gets many times worse not having AMA, it really relies on a good turn with 3 unhindered attacks including 2 5*+ for Beatdown, so I'm waiting for the card to come back. Fortunately I've opened the second Phoenix and rolled Restart on Mai some 2 hours ago, so I'm 2 Pathfinders, 1 Phoenix, 2 Wild Tornado away from a workable Phoenix deck that's stronger than AMA-less Naturia.

And, for real, if my cousin which is the definition of filthy casual can hit fucking KoG, anyone with a Phoenix deck that only lacks the Kuriboh can.

If anybody wants a deck for Level 40 Pegasus' Relinquished Deck, this worked on my first try with it. Literally the simplest shit; just summon Machine King during Pegasus' EP or Embodiment during your MP, then tribute for a Hazy Flame you're guaranteed to open with Balance. Pegasus doesn't have anything in his deck that can kill them other than Ultimate Providence, so just don't use their effects and you're good. The traps you play can be anything (you will NEED 3 Machine King BC and Embodiments though), just make sure it's all Traps so you don't screw up Balance. You can just add a bunch of Jar Of Greeds/Legacy Of Yatas/Goblin Housekeepings like I did and some battle protection traps

This game is actually pretty light. Konami has been very generous with the gems. The general availability of gems is what keeps this game from entering pay-to-win territory. Most other freemium games out there are not that way; I've seen games that were essentially spending competitions between players.

Orca guy here. Would I'm dropping the Cannonball Spear Fish since Deep Sweeper does it's job better while being a decent body. I may switch it out for Lost Blue Breaker for guaranteed Hammer Shark summons, but with 3 Legendary Ocean's and Balance, I should be fine.

I've considered that, but what could I get rid of to fit it in the deck? Orce is the big monster and uses Torpedo Fish, Shark Cruiser is a 2k beater with 2400 defense, and can help me keep field control since it can call Hammer Sharks and Sweepers when Legendary Ocean is on the field. Hammer Shark is for swarming the field and my summon when LO is not there, Sweeper for Spell/Trap control.

Besides, most of the stuff I can sacrifice is better off being used to take down cards, not life points.

Go buy some packs until you get 3 copies of both Hazy Flames. They're both rares. They're easy as hell to get. Throw them into a deck with easy tribute fodder that Relinquished can't suck (trap monsters, The Fiend Megacyber) and kick his ass. He literally has no out to them other than Ultimate Providence, which you can play around by simply not using their effects, and Golden Apples, which you can play around with Metalmorph or SRH or something
