I forgot to add that you can do one less qcf1 which makes the ender easy to hit when you want the wallcarry. It'll do less damage than hitting the complete combo 2x qcf1 and the ender but only 1 less if you do 2x qcf but miss the last hit off the ender.

Someone give me exact fucking technical details of how walls work in this game.
Something that can tell me perfectly if my wall splat keeps opponent there long enough for big followup, one move followup, or if I should just let opponent get up as they'd just punish my attempt to hit them.

Okay so far I've tried Asuka, Josie, Kazumi, Katarina and finally Dragunov, as a sub. Got bored of everyone (except Dragunov, still trying him out) What character would mesh well with my playstyle if I main Miguel? Character independent fundamentals is basically spacing. Using movement (forward dashing, back dashing, sidestepping) to put yourself in a favorable position while constantly putting your opponent in an unfavorable one.

Favorable for you is a range where moves you want to use won't whiff even if the opponent does 1 backdash or sidesteps.

Unfavorable for your opponent is a range where you can make their moves whiff with a backdash or sidestep.

If you are whiffing a lot you are probably trying to throw out moves at their max range and the opponent is backdashing or back walking and making them whiff, or you just don't know your ranges and you are whiffing out of ignorance.

And then obviously this implies that you should be actively trying to make your opponent whiff with spacing/backdashing/sidestepping and follow up with a whiff punish ( relatively fast move with long range) or whatever will reach if you can get away with it.

Do this with different kinds of frame advantage.

For example. You see an unsafe move do 1,4 to punish it, now you're +5. If they do a move faster than a jab your df2 will launch. If they do a jab your hellsweep will crush, if they do nothing your hellsweep will connect, if they duck you do df1, hopkick, or b1,4.

You can do this with every character. Use patterns. Setting a goal of making them duck and doing a mid will go a long way.

Next would be whiff punishing. If they whiff something from range 0-1.5 df2 them for a launch. If they whiff something farther f1+2 them. These are reliable whiff punishers.

As Leo you should proceed to wall carry and take em to pound town cuz her wall game is legit retarded good. if they lay there uf3+4 hits grounded and guarantees a df2+3. If they duck uf3+4 will leave u at +5 and uf3 will splat them. If they do a low get up kick uf3+4 will ch launch into another free uf3+4 and uf3 will low crush and wall splat. If they like to stand do df2+3 it's unseeable, -14, and knockdowns for a free fc df3 into mixups for wake up. Qcf3+4 is a safe mid low crush homing wall splat and df3 is a safe homing mid wall splat. Db1+2,2 hit confirm is a high damage mid wall splat.

d+3 or f,f+1 are your best bets against AoP/relaxed stance

Realistically though, King's match-up against Ling is retardedly Ling favoured (see Lil Majin vs P.Ling in Absolute Battle 8).

I play yoshi and just do meme stances once they think they figured me out. Just look at what gimmicks your character has and use them to make your opponent feel unsettled. Also, change the pace in which you do your moves. If you think "i'm going to do x move now" and he blocked or dealt with that move before, slightly delay it so he won't be expecting an attack

Who on PC understands high level Tekken and is willing to teach me? I started playing a month after release and I'm mid green ranks on a few characters. I've switched across multiple characters, hit a wall, and thought maybe the character isn't for me, but at my 6th character of this happening, I feel I am learning too slowly, and not picking up on enough.
I don't care about rank, only improving, don't mind losing over and over. Currently playing M. Raven, but am competent at Lars, Claudio, Kazuya, and Devil Jin, and I'll play whichever you think is best for me to improve, or for you to critique.

I know I will keep learning, but with someone I can really learn faster. For example in Sfv I really didn't understand much beyond the basics but having someone to consistently play and introduce new things made me get better exponentially faster. To the point where I now beat everyone that taught me after 3 months in locals(yeah I know Sleep fighter V is easy and shit but for my first fighting game it was still a lot to learn), because they saw the few things I wasn't grasping.

I also really have more patience for conscious intentional practice, rather than the delayed dissatisfaction of playing online and having to focus on avoiding shitty gimmicks rather than focusing on fundamental things only to realize that self analysis in that environment is pretty pointless.

I think it's fine to familiarize yourself with the game if you are a complete beginner. For example landing combos when you get the hit and moving around. Once you get used to those however you should move on because you might end up relying on moves that never work/are unsafe

Then the same chain of 6 grabs some rounds later and I've been mashing 1+2 even tilting my pad and focusing real hard to spam like no other. And I'm pretty sure it's impossible for all those grabs to have a 1 break ( even though I've concluded in the past that it's best to just spam 1, as most of the grabs are a 1 break ).
