Graphical processing is exponentially far higher. Detail outputted to the resolution as well. Then you have game size, game complexity, full audio, the fact that the screen is built into the device. And far reduced power consumption for the computation, leading to actual portability.

They skimped on resolution because that's not an important factor in most games intended for release on the system. 400x240 is enough to fit all the data necessary for them.
Personally I'd take higher refresh rates over resolution given both are tolerable.
Given power constraints to keep the system cheap to produce, which has been Nintendo's business model since the NES (FAMILY COMPUTER, accessible and ubiquitous), 240p is probably required to hit 30-60fps on many games.

It's not like the Vita doesn't skimp on resolution too. Something like a third of its games use 480x272 resolution 3D scaled up. Persona 4, Gravity whatever, Ys Celceta off the top of my head.

No. Personally I prefer a french press. Seriously though, not really.
It doesn't have a wide variety of useful homebrew outside of install and save management. Resolution makes it undesirable for video and comic reading, practically useless for web browsing.
It doesn't have the power to drive much emulation. PS1 is a no go, SNES is hit and miss and miss.
It has live patching plugin for romhacks, but so did the PSP.
It's nice to have a couple translations, undubs, and other hacks. But that's more from piracy enabling than homebrew.

There really is no king of homebrew.

Of course. You'd still benefit from running quake at 144Hz even if you could only get 40fps or so. But that's not my point.

CRTs had no hard set resolution limit and usually 160Hz+ vertical, so it's easy to exaggerate either. But the horizontal sync limits (in kHz) prevent both at the same time. It's a good metric for comparison.
Realistically, most of them outside of the later high end weren't capable of much higher than 1920x1080x60, which is incredibly commonplace nowadays. Few of those could actually resolve it clearly due to phosphor structure and beam focus.

Figured it out myself through a hex editor. Everything in red is the Gym Badge memory, starting at 0x1D82C. Only Pokemon species data is stored here, and it's determined by index number. If less than 6 Pokemon are used in a fight, it's filled with a blank 00.
The edited save in the image has a memory where 6 Zigzagoon are used in every fight.

Hopefully it's something people might find useful.

Should I get a 3.55 PS3 or a 3DS to hack? I go back and forth with the decision a lot, I haven't had a handheld since the DS and I'm not a big Nintendo fan having last played Mario Galaxy 2 when it came out, the biggest thing making me want a 3DS is the SMT games and some DS games and maybe Fire Emblem even though I've never played one. On the other hand I had a PS3 a long time ago before I built a PC and I get nostalgic about having one again that I can have any game I want on it while it'd be hooked up to my CRT tv with nice composite cables. I know that I'm the one who knows best what I want more, but maybe someone can sway me which one I get. I tried encrypting the ps2 iso into a iso.bin.enc, inserted it in the ps2placeholder, did all the stuff with reactPSN but in the end I obtained a No Signal/Blackscreen.
Now I tried to run the ISO directly from multiman and it runs smoothly.

The question is: I heard somewhere that running PS2's isos overheats the console. Instead, running the PS2 Classic doesnt. Is this thing true? I have a Slim Model and the game is Digital Devil Saga 2.
