In the first game you could actually just get your lobby sorted, lock it (or keep it open for MM) and then choose which map you wanted to play on and you'd either get matchmade into an existing lobby for that map (if you weren't locked) or just start a lobby on that map. It was especially good because there were map challenges so you could replay certain amaps to do specific stuff no idea why they changed it now

I wish certain loadouts would enable a specific moveset to spot players better who use them.

It's inferior to the Rx01, that's what I meant. Its cyclic RoF is about the same but when you factor in the burst delay Rx01 is superior, I think they have a better long-range damage profile, and the recoil is piss-easy to control. Plus, you can actually hipfire people with Rx01s.
Shame really, I love burst-fire guns but Hemlok is not only awful but it also demands that you adopt a god-awful playstyle with it.

I'll have to disagree about Boomtown, it's definitely a map that was designed around CoD-style rooftop camping. You could argue it's not Crash Site at least, and yeah you'd be right, but it's still bad.

Otherwise just keep on practicing. Lower your sensitivity, find a nice spot that has a lot of "targets" that you can shoot at and quickly jump between and just building up your muscle memory.

Roninbros help me pls. When do I sword block as ronin? Going around the map in general takes the piss without sprinting and whenever I'm in combat I'm either shooting, reloading or arc waving so I never get a chance to use it there. I just end up getting to engage maybe one or two titans before needing to eject, is this normal? I'm used to playing scorch and legion and tanking hits without changing titan the whole match so idk if this is normal for ronin play

Titan melee pushing Ronin's swordcore back is fucking retarded. Respawn only cares about microtransaction skins now. Frontier Defense is worse than it was in the first game.

I used to love this game but now I hate it so fucking much. Going fast doesnt cut it when the rest of the game is poorly balanced.

You can steal their batteries, yes. Bad idea without the low profile kit, though. You can also hurt them a lot with your anti-titan weapons, but they're more for fucking with them than outright killing them. The best anti-titan weapon is another titan.
Don't feel too hesitant to call in your titan. Your robutt is very important for the match.

You're actually holding the team back by not dropping your titan. Skill plays a big part in piloting but there's also a raw DPS factor involved. Even if I'm better than the other guys, I'm still going to lose or get critically damaged to the point I might as well eject if I'm outnumbered in every fight. Even if you're just soaking up hits for your allies and being a distraction that's still a huge benefit to the more experienced pilots on your team. Titans also make it a lot easier to farm grunts and reapers which is extremely important in Attrition. Five grunts is worth a single player kill, and grunts come in packs of 4-5 anyway. Reapers are also worth one player kill. If you drop a titan solely to rampage through the map stepping on AIs you're still actually being a big help to the team, and you're doing it a lot faster than a pilot can on foot.

Try Titan Brawl if you want to git gud at titan combat and power level some titans to unlock kits. Frontier Defense is also good for leveling them, but you don't get real PVP experience.

Use shield grunts. Blast spectres aren't very good in my experience. I use arcfall over barrage because it's cheaper and does good titan damage.
I use the same three titans, so I wouldn't change that.
Pilots are probably fine, but I've had decent luck with gunner, stim, and pyro

you see i was using shield grunts as a staller and arcfall to kill turrets but lately my shield grunts get melted by arc/boomers or thermite and arcfalls dont one shot turrents or do sufficient damage to core titans, which was why i started using barrage. its just obnoxious because every round starts the same, i get a good 50 or so point lead then my opponent just drops a planet on my head, i dont near enough supplies to deal with the onslaught, my pilots cant kill all their units or i cant kill their core scorch/ion and i lose

Focus on two points.
Drop ronin closer to your base so he advances through enemy pilots. Too often pilots will slip past if you drop at mid, and titans will just march forward and let them cap points.
Use your ogre to block if necessary, he can take a bunch of damage. If you have a chance though, drop him in up front to pressure their base. It can buy you lots of time to fortify points.
A cheap pilot like stim bruiser can be a sneaky way to grab the back point if they're distracted.
It's strange you have issues with shield grunts, they usually are tough enough to last until you bring some help to a point.
Lately I've been using regular specter. They are resistant to pyro's thermite, and will grab empty points if not stopped. Basically they punish the enemy for not dropping grunts on every point.
I'm not sure what else to tell you.

nah it's between wildfire launcher or thermal plating now. they made wildfire amp the thermite launcher's damage pretty significantly in addition to spilling additional thermite (spilling extra might default now, i'm not sure). thermal plating makes you completely immune to your own fire AND removes your titan's crit spots.

Yeah mitigating scorches real problem shouldn't be relegated to a fucking titan kit. You're missing the point of what I'm trying to say....No other Titan has to worry about its own kit whittling itself down when they engage something and scorch really is at its best when its up in peoples faces normally standing in its own thermite so why should being immune to its own thermite be a option rather than a default. Make the thermite immunity default and just make thermal plating just remove Scorch's critical zones.

mmm disagree, scorch requires most effort and skill. n* has access to a lower skill floor playstyle that's still relatively effective, whereas scorch has no choice in the matter. sure, n* can also be one of the highest skill CAP titans, but by no means is the floor on her high. with scorch, you have to know where all the enemies are, plan out your route and method of attack down to the last detail, execute it perfectly, and even then it might not result in success.

also, i dont think that every titan should just be a lateral side-grade in terms of effort required/skill-floor. you'd either have to make every titan piss-easy, which would ruin the game for good players...or you'd have to make all the titans difficult as fuck, which would result in newer players getting invariably run over during the titan phase of every match (and they already get run over enough as it is).
