Hey /aa2g/,
Apparent retard with some problems with the game here.
Whenever I get to some parts of H-scenes, the game's image just freezes. Alt-tabbing / minimizing and bringing it back up in this state produces a black screen. The sound continues and my mouse can still work; in short, I can still play the game, but the image freeze just prevents me from seeing anything further. Anyone else run into this problem and know how to fix it?
I used the pre-installed game from the OP, I use Locale Emulator, have the WIN10 FPS issue dll downloaded and only have the included translation and SVII uncensor installed. Otherwise, it's a pretty clean install. Appreciate any help.

The next game in the "artificial" series isn't going to be a sequel to aa2.
It's going to be called "Artificial Life" and it's going to be much bigger in scale and depth and be more of an actual game, not just porn. It's aiming to be Illusions "magnum opus", taking everything they've learned from aa2 and from the more recent Honey Select. It will of course retain the "anime" art style, as that has sort of become synonomous with the Artificial series.
Think the sims mixed with elements from games like Bully, or Persona, with higher emphasis on customization and sandbox elements, except X rated, obviously.
May even get a western release, since the've realized that aa2 was super popular in the west. There's talk it may even be available on steam.
Expect it to be announced about mid to late 2018, after they've finished up with honey select.

I wouldn't apply tail through AAU, since they have unique bone requirements and I wouldn't trust them.
What's giving you problem with ears though? If you're just adding a 5th hair slot, the Hair tab is functional for that and you just need to know the ear's number. If you're trying to replace them with something from the AAu horn pack we can help with that. It's a simple matter of

The only "compressed version" of AA2 that exists is part of AAU development. The torrent which you're probably talking about is anything but compressed. It's packet with 7zip, but it unpacks to like 14GB which would mean you need at least 21GB of free space to unpack it.

You were absent for a long time, honey. Now all your mods you thought were important are obsolete by hexapacks and aau. Sluts like Kirie might have wrong slots assigned to them but the hairs are still intact in the packs. Nowadays cards use custom assets all the time and it's done with aau. Just follow the recommended mods guide and you'll be up to speed in no time.

Yes, although the system is retarded in my opinion. If you put just the mod card into your female folder and open it in the editor, AAU will extract assets and remove the mods from the card and places the card with mods in the AAUbackup folder. So technically the non-mod card is not needed at all.
However, what also happens is that if you already have the mods, AAU will not extract them and it will not remove the mods from the mod card. Maybe that behaviour will be improved at some point, which will make the modcard/clean card thing completely obsolete.

Absolutely don't add it to the class roster. Add them both to your data folder and select one in AAEdit as if you want to preview it but don't preview it. Once you select the card and there are assets you don't have, choose to extract them. You no longer need the card and can use the low data one. For some reason, I have two AA2Maker folders in my ILLUSION folder. One in English and at about 500MB, one in Japanese at >5GB. AAFace belongs into the larger Japanese folder. Now I don't get the "Could not open LogFile" error any more and I can select all the faces.

Right, i've followed the installation to a T and the game is working, I have it all modded etc but I have two major problems.
1. Using Windows 10 and Locale Emulator is completely fucked for me. No objects/characters appear ingame whenever I use it but if I run the game without it, everything is fine
2. How the hell do I simply change the student names on the roster so it's not written in moon rune? Do I really need to go in the Character editor and slowly change them all individually?
3. I downloaded a clothing pack (most recommended one) and there's barely any clothes. Are there any other recommended packs (i've read the pastebin but it's an utter cluster fuck. I try to download clothes and it gives me "Uncensored 3D Pubes" etc).

The only way to change a character's name is editing the card. The Maker or ReiEdit, and it must be done manually.
Never use a separate "installer" for a mod. AA2Install or drag-and-drop files or manual installation, no exceptions.

the default characters were created by japanese men using japanese names. the name is hard coded into the card. to change it you'd need to edit that card.

I think there was a mod that translated the original characters names, but I don't know where that is. Never used the original characters in my life.
The names are baked into the cards, so the only way to change them is to edit the individual cards or to download cards that are edited by someone else. Or just downloading completely unrelated characters that have a "translated" name in the first place.

those can all be done but i think harpies, lamia, centaur, and mermaids would need new assets. i think i saw a cyclops face somewhere. dulahans would be tricky if you wanted them to carry their head. h-scenes may be unsatifactory (can't spread a mermaid's legs) without further modding too to account for the changes in body type.

The shower portal to the beach, etc, is intended. Those 3d rooms weren't ported with immersion in mind. We've only relatively recently had enough rooms ported over to cover all of the private rooms.
I'm not too fond of the unfitting rooms being in my school, but the location is nice I guess.
