NEW BOSS FIGHT REVEALED
I'll take it if you can upload it somewhere, always interested in that kind of stuff even if it ultimately ends as a reference book more than anything
Is this the new 100mph Armata?
Yeah, you need an account to upload on Mega.
Also UPEO Super Flanker is bae
Pissed me off to no end that the UPEO livery wasn't available for the Su-37 in AC:I.
I wish, it's just the game's main theme.
Just fits with /aceg/ feels pretty strongly.
>is he ourdude
I mean, he was dreaming of and designing aircraft and helicopters when everyone else will still blown away by the horse-drawn carriage.
Sorta, but you get my point.
To be fair lots of people wanted to fly and lots of people tried, the problem is just that junping off cliffs is a one time only deal if you don't have a proper flying machine
That said I don't know, the designing aspect has always fascinated me. Just comming up with something that flies.
have some more ACTIVE
>many years ago
Yeah, years ago haha it's not like I doodle at work at all
I remember during primary school my friends drew stuff with nazis, machine guns, tanks and niggers and they never got into any problem for it.
I had a swing wing/forward swept fetish, so all my planes had both.
Something like this
Yeah that sounds about right. My whiteboard is also full including a VF1 and an N1. But I cant take a picture now because I walked out already
What the fuck?
Yeah one of my friends had this infatuation with swastikas for some reason
I shit you not. I was drawing a biplane zooming along, and the teacher called out at me to pay attention and asked me what I was doing that was so important, then stomped over to my desk, saw the drawing and gasped,
then sent me to the Principal's office, where I spent the rest of the afternoon.
What kind of school did you go to mang? That sounds bad.
I remember that we had some hour in first or second class/grade/whatnot where we could do whatever and I think I taught some kid how to draw "WW2" planes, which I'm pretty sure was just my attempts at P40Es
This was at a pretty average southern elementary school in 2003.
Also I should've mentioned that both the teacher and principal in question were divorced women.
>purest form of love
a man of taste
(i have a lot of ACTIVE-chan pics so i'm posting them)
Back in high school art class was a shit flinging hour, people literally threw bags across the classroom and the teacher didn't bat an eye.
I will have learnt literally nothing in those clases, I got coached fundies by my more artistically inclined little sister years ago and everything else is self taught.
>drawing in your textbook
I didn't realize I shared a general with such barbarians.
Currently messing around with the super old demo level from November 2016 that's been untouched for a long time on the current iteration of the game.
We had to do shit, but you know drawing a comic and stuff like that is fun. But the teacher was a cool guy so that probably helped
But all my shit comes from my
Keep at it Active a cute
she's looking at you
It rustles my jimmies that there aren't more schematics of it.
I'm glad I wasn't proud enough of my stuff to be bothered to make an account and post shit. I cringe a lot while looking at my older artwork. Wonky anatomy, aiming to emulate what I termed "manga" style, mech designs that could use some aditional design work...
>tfw still have most of my drawings on paper
>probably most of the digital ones too if I bothered to look
Maybe one day I will look at all that junk again. I remember making some X-Wing/F15 hybrid with AC liveries
God, I can't even... This was me 3-4 years ago? Clearly I hadn't come to the realization of how great planefus are.
Let's not talk about some other issues this has.
Maybe I'll salvage this someday.
The light scribbles are just ideas for how it could work in a shmup.
I mostly moved to digital as to not bother with the space paper takes up. I'm diving deep into the abyss. I feel physical pain when seeing how I drew people around the time of pic related.
It's been on a backburner for a while, I should probably get back to it.
It just dawned me that the 2014 timestamp is the year I scanned it, not the year I drew it. Judging by the anatomy on contemporary pictures, it should be older.
Anatomy or mechanical stuff I drew? This here is an illustration for a project we had in Language and Literature class in the last year of high school. We had to write a story pertaining to the theme of "First Contact". I ended up splitting from my group due to differing opinions and wrote my own.
I was the only one in the entire class to hand the assignment over.
I really dislike the way I drew characters back then. It's painful.
The one in the post you replied is a year old, I had finally gotten a good grasp on anatomy
and I'm quite proud of it
. Pic related is a year older. I don't think I can muster the willpower to post older things. Spoilered just in case. It's meant to illlustrate Maheu from Zola's Germinal in the mine.
I dunno man, you're hyping it up like it's this extravaganza of shittery, and this pic just seems like you weren't 100% on the faces.
Let's see some older stuff. If I'm right, it's not even going to be bad, it just seems worse because you're the one that drew it.
Now if you'd posted some legitimately deviantart-tier garbage like pic related, then I'd have a different opinion.
I've done worse. Most of it isn't scanned, though.
I'm going to regret this, aren't I?
I can't for the life of myself draw something that is or was alive at some point.
The abortion in the lower part was supposed to be a pilot climbing a sand dune and took more time alone than the rest of the drawing.
Sorry to say this,
but the tall one has some serious Bayonetta syndrome
Don't forget, even if you dislike your old drawings, it's what influenced your style from there on out, so every drawing you've ever done is worth it, since it helped you to become the great artist you are.
This might be the oldest piece I have scanned. Not even "muh ayylmao" can excuse this. They haven't changed a lot in 6 years, looking back.
Before I went on an autism streak and wrote down a lot of basic grammars for conlangs, the reason this picture is labeled "harudim", the species was called Tacitus Sicarius. It wasn't even an edge-induced choice, they descend from a nocturnal predatorial omnivore and it felt like a good idea at the time.
It's sometimes hard to look back at what you were proud of. I'm still very fond of all the things I came up with in that time. Pic related is a prime example, it belongs to quite possibly the oldest (and most cherished) setting I still work on, though it's changed a lot since it's inception.
Alright I don't have thta many on here, but here's an AC related one with lensflare
Found a buddy at the bottom of the pile
A quick one
How is that an excuse?
qt Tomcat tbqh
Good old ms paint
At least it turned out better than expected.
Quick Su-27 sketch.
Drawing from imagination is objectively hard.
Hard mode engaged!
Actually kinda satisfied with how it turned out especially when some of my referenced images have looked worse :P
This got me a week in detention when I was in 6th grade.
I still like you for showing me that plane
Hang on is that a jap fighter parked at Pearl? Also I still don't get how this ends with detention
A bit wonky in some areas, but it'll do.
That reminds me of one time I was kicked out of my schools library because I watched drydens documentary on the x-15.
>"No fighter plane games!"
Also, pretty air combat-ish background music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk1KtY9bJWg
I'm not knowledgeable about props, what model is it?
Truly, people get triggered over trivial things.
Other than the vertical stabilizer being A400 proportioned, the only flaw I see is that the aft looks squished a bit. Would you mind me posting a crude edit?
Go right ahead. It's hard to get the fin right when the Tornado's is very large anyway making it quite easy to go overboard when sketching it.
Yeah, I agree it seems a bit squashed.
If you'll excuse me then... Your sketch is great, proportions would be the only kink. Assuming I haven't messed them up.
Looks good. Quite an improvement on my original anyway. Next time I would make sure to widen the bottom of the fin next time as well as move it slightly further back. Seems a bit far forward in my original. Thanks for the pointers.
I did not plan this out well enough to fit the whole plane.
She's trying her best
even if she's a little slow
Does an all-jet powered B-36 feel as wrong to you guys as it does to me? Cuz it feels wrong.
Post yfw << You're in dangerous airspace! All planes, break, break!! >>
post radical stuff
I really like cats, guys, what about you?
Every day we stray further from the light of Moebius.
Not sure if this is adorable or if it's the most vile thing I've ever seen.
Restocking a limited amount of a bunch of stuff at 8 PM EST tomorrow, including:
-Razgriz (not limited, have a lot of these)
-Osea (flag and roundel)
Will also figure out a restock poll and a vote for what's next some time in the coming days.
>Galm gets restocked
>broke as hell
>tfw AC6 is always forgotten despite being just as good as any of the holy trinity
Sure the writing wasn't as good as AC5 or Zero, and it was an Xbox exclusive, but people almost hate on it and act like it was somehow a disappointment. I love AC6, it's my most played AC game. It arguably has the best gameplay out of the main games and it's soundtrack is excellent too, not to mention the beautiful environments.
I still believe Heavy Command Cruiser is one of the best missions in the entirety of Ace Combat. Five (5) flying fortresses to shoot down, an ace squadron battle and a 10/10 track to boot. FUCK what a great mission.
I think this shitposting competition may have gone too far I hope the demons of the round table strike me down before I commit more atrocities like those upon Hoffnung
I actually like Ratbat, at least he can draw planes and cute girls well.
Its actual anthro shit that triggers me, you know that basically furry shit but its totally a plane guys :^)
This summer has been awful for movies.
I've mostly been rewatching a bunch of anime and old movies to try and wash the taste of nuHollywood out of my mouth.
Dunkirk was probably the best movie I've seen this summer.
Fuck, go see Wind River. It's about a murder up in Wyoming on a reservation, and a wildlife tracker and FBI agent who investigate together. Top shelf thriller and the most brutal and authentic gunfights I've seen in a while.
Rewatching pic related for the quintillionth time.
Best AC2 track coming through
The XB-36 called for a single-tire main landing gear, but it was so heavy and placed so much pressure on airstrips that it was changed to the four-wheel gear seen on the production B-36.
Look at the fucking size of it. This single tire weighed 1,320 pounds, and contained enough rubber for roughly 60 car tires.
>His planefu only has a 3:1 kill ratio
Pilot Anon is Don Greer confirmed!
I really like that image tho, I wish I knew which book it's from.
Don Greer is an artist, who usually draws military vehicle illustrations for books
I'm no game dev, but I'm pretty sure the game is 90% done. They were originally supposed to release 7 sometime this year, but it was pushed back to sometime in 2018 in order to finetune and stabilize the game for multiple platform release.
That's what they said over a year ago. It should be at least 75% done; apparently they announced recently that they have finished the script. All that is left now is optimization for PC and the consoles.
I always felt like this track could be perfect in some kind of stealthy night attack behind enemy lines mission in Ace Combat.
THe gameplay is alright, I mean we've seen this mission multiple times already, but there's an interesting Interview with Kono at the end
You're gonna like Kono a lot more after this, Tom
A lot of that synthwave, forgive me if that's the wrong genre, whatnot tier stuff would do pretty well for those. I had them on a playlist when playing F117 since that has no music at all
>tfw there's more planes their than your country will ever have
>tfw you draw a design, thinking it's original and it turns out to be a dead ringer for an existing design
Even the weird indented canards match. I should get back to the drawing board.
This isn't even my final form.
I'm really digging the soundtrack for Yukikaze, it has a ton of great atmospheric tracks.
Welcome to that hell.
I got an floatplane with retractables idea but it turns out the airframe I had in mind for it is pretty close to some MiG prototype I cant remember the name of now.
Yeah but that one I like because it doesn't feel like they just glued a fin onto it like it does with the 1 or the Super Sylph. It's over the top, but in a good way
Seems I forgot to select the picture. The fin is due to me taking a page from the Delphinus and the rest was what felt natural.
Looks more Berkut than Fand tbqh. Probably because it is twin engine and a bit wider
I'd add some elevators or canards to the F14 though, it kinda has the same issue as the VF25 for me
It's modelled after the Berkut, but some of the similarities with the Fand struck me when seeing that image of it.
I agree that V-fins don't look good with variable geometry wings. I wanted to give that one the most "sci-fi" look of them (it's a proto-delphinus of sorts), but that doesn't do the trick.
At least the rest of her family is operational (have some cute belly)
Yes, you heard that right
Thank you anon, have some more too
Whew dude how did you go from that to this?
You imply that I learned how to draw people or rather faces at all
Joke's aside it's just practice, I don't think there is anything else to drawing
That said there were a lot worse pictures in that pile that I won't take pictures of or upload because of shitty OhCees and no creativity in ripping off whatever I liked at the time
I really like that VC2 pic though
>I agree that V-fins don't look good with variable geometry wings. I wanted to give that one the most "sci-fi" look of them (it's a proto-delphinus of sorts), but that doesn't do the trick.
Inverted pelikan tail.
I think there might raining in the mountains there.
Isolated rain areas are some of the coolest shit to see from a distance
Define tactical shooter. Is it fun autism like Red Orchestra?
Blue board, Tom
i probably played more 3 then the rest of the franchise combined.
no i mean the epcsxe or whatever isnt responsive as .exe has stopped responding.
how do you set this to work with xinput?
Why can't NASA be in charge of building the planes of the US? They always have the niftiest designs!
I'd buy an F-5 and make her cute again
FPS with squad control, one for suppressing fire and one for assaults/encirclements, with enemies that actually react to suppression and sometimes take initiatives on their own. You get to control a tank as a squad member on some missions.
Hell's Highway adds some destruction and bazooka squads that can blow up mg emplacements
There's also a lot of ptsd involved
I might look into that after VC. Which one to pick?
Supreme choice, the F5 is really cute
Road to Hill 30 -> Earned in Blood(optional, since it's the previous game but from another viewpoint with some different levels) -> Hell's Highway
I played the first two on ps2, so I don't know if the pc ports are decent
Republic Commando was top tier
I decided to take a picture before it gets erased by whatever project is using the whiteboard next
Don't see a reason to play these games in anything but english, it's all good
I found a fighter design in the pile yesterday that is basically this without canards
For a time, there was an attempt to fit the B-36 with a treaded main landing gear.
Yes, it looks as retarded as it sounds.
tried epsxe and psx
xebra got the ISO running but i dont know how to make it work with my ps4 controller
I moved on to play the least known ace combat game
(Ridge racer (psp))
Laff'd a little at this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_Nuclear_Propulsion
>flying nuclear powerplants
Speaking of which, why did Fallout 4's airliners have such a hideous engine cluster?
Christ, I forgot how ugly those things looked
I kinda liked that mantaray thing, but then again it also suffers from way too many stabilizers syndrome and is ultimately just a fat N1
On the other hand there is this which is a bit fat, but still better than the other originals.
That said I don't think anything beats the B29 bombing shit in Vegas
It was fine in FO1, 2, and NV, because it directly contrasted the Mad Max-style post-war society and aesthetics, and was used ironically and sparingly. In FO4, EVERYTHING is centered around wacky-totally-retro-bro dieselpunk shit that made Bioshock Infinite look like a Ken Burns documentary.
I wouldn't even call it 50s aesthetic, NV and FO3 had a decent 50s post-apoc aesthetic that was handled really well. FO4 is just a weird retro-tech aesthetic that comes off as unbridled and unrestrained stupidity. See pic related.
noguns here. what's the problem there?
Well, it's a non-static non-crewserved water-cooled weapon, for a start. I was posting it more for the fact that it's anachronistic even by fallout standards than anything else. Apparently someone in Bethesda's team thought water cooled weapons were so 50s, when in reality this is something I would expect out of pre-WW1 Sci-Fi.
Yeah, it's a very stupid design. My thoughts on what happened here is someone who has no idea on how firearms work tried to smash a Lewis gun and a Maxim gun together, creating this thing.
Before I redo this thing because I noticed I made a mistake, how does this look? I'm replacing the old wings because they are a bit too close to the Skyly tbqh
I would make the leading edge of the wings less straight, to give them a more rounded look. An elliptical wing is a good cchoice, gives it the most efficient way to generate lift.
That may or may not be part of the redoing thing, my main concern are the tips though and perhaps altering the airfoil to something more sensible or laminar. But the way the root is modelled the latter might not be possible without a ton of work
That said, the straight bits are more or less taken from the Spitfire wings
They also have that fun stall behaviour where stall starts everywhere on the wing at once
I hear you're interested in a swept wing that stalls evenly.
An elliptical wing shape should not stop it from being a lamninar flow wing.
If you want examples of a laminar flow wing with air inlets in the wing roots, take a look at the FR-1 Fireball and subsequent XF2R Dark Shark, which also include laminar flow wings in their designs.
Also, if you want to be really cheeky with the wingtips
make them Hoerner Wing Tips, like the He 162 has
>An elliptical wing shape should not stop it from being a lamninar flow wing.
That's not the problem, it's that the root with the intakes is a pretty complicated part of the model that depends a lot on the wing shape.
If I change the airfoil that's just gonna alter the entire intake thing, which is a lot of work
And I like the current shape for the radiators, sticking out quite a bit in front of the wing
Pretty complex shape tbqh, perhaps
What did you expect was gonna happen?
Can you maybe cut the wings off for a second and get me a picture of the wingroot as a line on the radiator? I think I need a better perspective for this problem.
And if you want to keep the current wingtips, try to round the corner at the front part a bit.
People bang on about elliptical wings like no tomorrow, but a tapered wing provides most of the same performance while also being lighter. You just have to be more on your toes when it comes to landing.
It's just a modelling problem, not a design problem, you see how it goes to the fuselage? That's the bit I'm worried about changing up too much because it's a bit of a pain to get right again
and because I like the current look
Although looking at it now I could probably change the trailing edge without too much trouble, but for a laminar wing I'd have to change the leading edge too
The design problem is that way back when this model was first made I didn't really make a good airfoil, if one at all
This is mostly about making it look good honestly, the original wings were probably fine too, but a bit too close to what inspired it
The leading edge looks aalright, maybe a little thick, but nothing that would jump out, you only have to make the trailing edge more slimmer and you're golden.
If you want to keep the straight leading edge, you could make a semi-elliptical wing, such as pic related.
I would round the corners on the wingtips then, but that's up to you.
You mean the straight edge at the trailing edge in that picture?
That's just to show the airfoil
just deleted the wing and pulled the foil from the root out to demonstrate how it interacts with the radiator assembly, the wing has a bit of sweep forward in that section, not a whole lot though
or do you mean the curved section at the root of the TE? In that case it's just low poly.
If anything it's probably going to be a bit of a mix, probably straight up until the guns or something.
This is just a really quick attempt at a laminar airfoil, so a bit of tinkering is possible
that sounds like pure comedy, at least if i'm trying to fly
>tfw open-air cockpits aren't viable on fighters anymore
>ywn feel the wind on your face as you engage in aerial combat
>tfw you will never, ever go to the danger zone in an F-14 Tomcat
How can she be so beautiful
>tfw we might get to Hoffnung the Eruseans in AC7
that shit's gonna be cold. then you get hot engine oil spit on you and burning you. i'll take a covered cockpit for me and my buddy
>japan gets nuked a 3rd time
>held back another 5 years
