Believe it or not, it's easier to optimize for one set of specs that never change, than to have to account for the endless combinations of people trying to run shit on toasters. When you know exactly what you are working with it's really easy to deal with it.

i saw the reddit thread yesterday and today a PC gamer news on the steam library page. went to check out NA FPP squads and ended up with this amount of afk people 2 times in a row. im pretty sure that i would aways get this same amount of players everytime if i kept going.
thing is, like 10 out of those 30 were actual players so games are basically 15 squads fighting for the win instead of 25.

I swear to fuck if I'm trying to trek across the map and I start hearing bullets whiz by, I'd say 7 times out of 10 I just book to the nearest cover just to get rekt shortly after.

Or I'll get shot a few times, waste meds (if I have any) under cover and get domed when I'm peaking or trying to find out where shots are coming from

What's your guys' opinions on executing someone who i down but not really a threat? I include "providing information" as a threat.

In places like early fights at Georgopol crates, Military or School, i dont see downed players as threats, and actually a tactical disadvantage to kill them, wasting valuable rounds and revealing your location for all enemies.

I looked on reddit, and the only posts i found on it were largely against it, people saying shit like

I get my enjoyment form downing them, not putting them out. killing a downed guy is a threat conclusively removed but it depends largely on context. if you down a guy who only has a tiny bit of cover, you can use him as bait because his teammate(s) will be forced into running over to save him. if you down a guy in a surprise close quarters firefight you might as well finish him off. if you happen to see a guy who was downed by someone else (not sure how often this happens really), it probably is best to just hide and watch him until his buddy comes over in most cases, setting up an even better bait trap than giving yourself away to his teammates who now neither have to save him nor are unaware of your presence anymore

if I down a guy and still have a good shot I usually just put one or two rounds in him to turn up the pressure on his would-be saviors

Figure out the distance to the target and learn to either zero on the fly or compensate
Remember that the minimum zero is 100m, meaning you have to aim slightly above a target that's very close if you decide to keep the 4x on at that range for some reason

Depends on personal preference for everything really. M16 is objectively the best due to it having the highest velocity being optimal for accurately shooting far targets without leading so much, but I prefer the AK because I'm good at leading shots with it.

For medium range best choice is a toss up between M4 and SCAR. M4 has a slightly higher velocity and RoF while the SCAR is extremely stable while spraying. But M16 has the highest RoF of all rifles and if you can control the burst you can melt people with it, while AK's higher damage means one less shot to kill if you can handle its somewhat unforgiving recoil.

Nah dude, I had over 300 556 rounds. I used a shitload to blow up his car, and then missed between 10-30 while shooting and moving into cover, same for him, then we both were in good cover for peek battles.

I was peeking and shooting this dude constantly, blood spraying out every single time I hit him, and he just never went down. Lag maybe? I doubt it, haven't lagged all day long and this game was no different, smooth sailing the whole time. I'm not gonna call him a hacker or anything, but the game fucked me somehow. Hit registration or something. It was total bullshit. I've shot people less times with worse guns (or the same gun) and killed them faster.

Is this game actually fun without friends? I was watching some streams and it just seems like COD but on larger scale. I'm antisocial and have no friends to speak of so I'm wondering if I would be wasting money buying this. I typically on play FFXIV (MMO) but I'm quickly growing tired of it. I'm at a point where I can't decide how to play optimally in fpp. If you sit still and keep an eye out for people, you're an easy snipe unless you are basically omnipotent.

At the same time, running around and spinning around to look for people is an easy way to get spotted. But at least you're harder to hit and you have a fighting chance.

Also the last couple of circles are hell without a sniper.

It's really not much different from playing in third person. Being proactive will typically be the right play, but every now and again you may fall prey to someone camping in a strange ass location who gets the better of you.

Playing optimally in this game means reducing your exposure to as much negative variance as possible. That's why sometimes really aggressive plays can be really good, because it decreases your potential of being attacked from flanked angles (since everyone in the area will be dead once you've cleared it), and the sheer selection of loot will reduce your chances of not being adequately equipped for the next engagement. Not to mention you're then playing the circle rather than just hoping things go in your favour while you AFK for 30 minutes in the middle.

The whole point is to get the most return on investment, you'd be foolish to think people didn't buy shitloads of nvidia cards as soon as AMD was no longer as profitable short term.

I would usually recommend against buying any 2nd hand PC parts other than office refurbishments since those aren't likely to have had much use, but right now especially you should not buy ANY used video cards unless you can get them so dirt cheap it doesn't matter if it dies in a month.

Nobody is selling a 1080ti for 300, even used. Minimum would be like $100 off retail price. If you mean a 980ti, then sure. It's as good as a 1070, which is all you need for 1080p gaming. Just check the market for previously sold cards and compare prices, you can do this on ebay by selecting sold items only. If a card is priced far lower than the rough price, be wary of its condition. In any case, ebay are really good about dead cards and will almost always side with the buyer, so just stress test it as soon as you get it, and if you get any artifacting or crashes then you can return it and get your money back.

I think that you can die too easily getting out of a moving car. And if by some miracle the game decides you were moving 1/2 of a mile per hour less and only take half damage, that's fine.

But you can be moving so fucking slowly and still die, it's retarded. You should be able to get out of a fast moving vehicle and take 99% damage but not die.
