Yay, managed to get through the second Challenge dungeon. It's not that bad if you get a jump start with taking a bunch of OP with you. Though I can see it being very challenging if you go without any, god damn.Even died at the final room but apparently I was wiser than I though and had a fairy with me to revive me. Then I remembered to actually use very helpful staff to get it on.

In the main game you could get very easily along without ever using staffs. But here you must use them, they make your life a lot easier. I wouldn't dream killing those reapers without that staffs. Too bad I didn't get to Z size, I didn't grind OP since I was running low on bread because I was stupid and didn't buy that stuff from the store. Oh well, gotta be more careful.

Now it's time to get some OP to buy the third challenge dungeon.

Oh I wouldn't be too surprised. Wouldn't be too great look if KT skipped the third game of the series on Vita, I doubt many people buy it but it really isn't much of an effort to put it there either. And it looks better for them if they just complete it.

With NoA2 they didn't bring the first game here either, if anyone expected that to change should think things again. I fully expect that Atelier game be the last KT and Gust game to come to Vita in west.

For those games the port is already done and paid for for Japan, and the translation is already done and paid for with the PS4 version so the cost to do the Vita version is pretty much just QA to make sure it passes certification if they want to do a digital version. The fact that they're passing on them even after that tells me that their Vita sales are in a very bad position for them to not even consider it. It would be nice if they could at least finish up the series on Vita like you said though.

Shin Yomawari is quite good. Certainly feels better than previous with more variety of monsters, more boss fights, special areas like library and mansion, a few very nice scenaries and a slightly more interesting story progression with alternating protagonists.

I think the main drawback is probably that it's still not very long.

Cleared 3 chapters so far and they're all pretty great.

Atelier is my yearly series, it delivers on comfy slice of life and some nice alchemy puzzles as how I move this trait to this item. Once or twice a year, I just find it very fun thing to do. The story is mostly there to create nice slice of life situations with different members of the cast. And new cast makes it fresh every year so I keep buying and playing.

Nice, glad that run turned out well for you. I have to say one of Z's best improvements is being able to take OP with you before the start of a dungeon.

There was also a nice moment in floor 29, there were those horn beetles and some little dinosaurs. I thought I could handle them just fine with the dinosaurs being in front and beetles in back, but then the beetle started attacking without caring about the other enemies if the line happened to be straight. Then I remembered, right, those horn beetles are mad.

For the next game they should also adjust the companion AI a bit. I get it that if they actually were competent with their skill usage it would make it too easy, but when in a tough spot they should try at least something. Now they just take it and die without much going into extremes. Or just use a skill randomly.

It actually happened in the second floor. In the second challenge dungeon the 2nd floor is just there for you to collect bunch of stuff. But what does Marika do? She uses her double action skill for fun. I guess she has a weird sense of humour.

Was just actually thinking about that maybe she actually would be a better partner because of her skills. The more offensive ones doesn't seem to work that well honestly. Took Marika with me since she can take some hits but too bad it's iffy. Should probably main Marika since she has some solid skills, that double action thing is super useful. Rios death scythe isn't always the best as it takes a few too many turns to actually kill the enemy. And the damage from it is also abysmal, but I get that it isn't the main point of that move.

Yeah. It's not the quickest game to beat so maybe a little more time would have been appropriate.

But even if I complain about this stuff, I feel like they've done a solid job with this thing. Hopefully Matrix gets another shot with these things. I wonder if they really want to make even harder game, the main game really is baby mode compared to what you get in the challenge mode. But making the main game would also frustrate normal players who are there for some light dungeon crawling and lewds. Maybe just do more puzzles and challenge dungeons. Though those easy story dungeons are also pretty relaxing stuff to do while listening some other things. Actually a perfect podcast game if anyone ever needed one.

Yeah, after a certain point, I just set the other characters' partner AI to no skill use. High defense is always valuable in a partner, but utility will save you when RNG goes bad, haha.
