I think by the time BtS starts, Chloe is already past her worst phases of being angry and depressed. That she's actually willing to have a friend and try to find a better future tells me that she's starting to get a little better.
I see Rachel as more of a confirmation about things to Chloe than an awakening.
Even with the title "Awake", that seems more to apply to Chloe waking up from the nightmare she was living before as she starts to become happier.

I'm not sure if Chloe was ever taking anything besides smoking and drinking. She mentions in the first game that she was seeing a therapist, which is a good step and one she (and numerous other characters) would probably need after everything.
Joyce was one anti-depressants though so maybe Chloe took some of those at some point. That's purely speculation though.

I was half-assing the game in my first playthrough and thought that he had special powers too. I thought the game was over at this point and Jefferson has defeated Max, especially when I was presented with those options.
Later on, I was convinced that Chloe was manipulating me or rather Max all along and that she was truly the one behind the storm.

I didn't half ass, but I thought that. The options hurt because I kept looking for a way around them. I chose Bae because Chloe deserved it. The universe had taken a shit on her. I'm waiting until reviews about episode 1 are out. And even then, I'll be very, very hesitant because it's unlikely the strike will be over in time for Hannah to voice Max in Farewell.
I don't know how the logistics work on these things, but something implied to me that you can upgrade from the regular game to the deluxe edition, so that's probably what I'll end up doing (if I do it at all).

I chose Bae because I was going to be damned if I let Chloe die after all she had been through, because I'd be damned if I let Max lose the person she tried to hard to protect and the only one that knew what she went through, and because I saw way too many plotholes that I was thinking the Sacrifice Chloe option was a trap. What timeline is BtS set in? The very first unaltered timeline before Max photojumped is what I'm assuming but it'd be cool if it was a post photojump timeline.

Rarely, and clinical depression is rare to begin with even if mutliple major risk factors are present simultaneously. Even rarer at such young an age, from what I gather.

Clinical depression would also mean she would have to have been diagnosed, which would (should) change a lot of stuff about her life, how Joyce treats her, whether she can just go out by herself, let alone drink. She would be prescribed medication, would probably not have been able to just stop seeing her therapist like she said she did. And I just don't see that someone majorly depressed would be as snarky-go-lucky as she is in her internal monologue, or downright euphoric as we've seen her be at the gig. People suffering severe depression have problems being emotional at all, and she is notably emotionally intense and dynamic even in just the bit of footage we've seen.

She's depressed, I doubt they will actually make a medical condition out of it.

For there to not be paradox, it would have to take place in the actual past. As if BtS is gazing into the past and everything is the present of the timeline.
If it was set as events in the past, which it would be if we saw evidence of Max's time travel, then it would create a paradox. Max being able to go back in time with a photo from the future, but she destroyed that photo in the past. Time travel is hella complicated.

There's no need for it.

I think there was already enough about bullying Kate to make it clear numerous people were doing it, but leaving Brooke's line in wouldn't have hurt to make it a little more believable. Kate's beliefs do set her apart and that made some dislike her for purely that reason, they thought she was looking down on them from some moral high ground.

Maybe it was going to be something involving the natives and the Blood Oath Rachel and Frank took, I'm sure if you ever asked anyone from DONTNOD they would say it's a mystery or to use your imagination.
Samuel seems to be known by most people at Blackwell and he could run a lost and found for stuff he comes across when cleaning. He probably doesn't just have Rachel's stuff.

Rachel giving him photos isn't too crazy when she was also letting Daniel draw her, seems like she enjoyed letting people admire her beauty and being friendly to those cast aside.
Looking at who we know are Rachel's friends: Chloe, Frank, Justin, Trevor, Nathan, Samuel, Daniel... it looks like Rachel has a thing for those seen as outcasts. I could see that being a point of contention between Rachel and Victoria, where the former uses her status to cheer up others and the latter only really cares about herself and the few on her level.

Rachel's hair is blonde. It's certainly more blonde than Chloe's natural hair colour, and we've had no problems calling Chloe blonde.

And Chloe's eyes haven't changed colour, they're the same as they've always been. It's just a little hard to tell exactly what shade they are in different scenes with different lighting. Last time I remember this question coming up shortly after some of the initial BtS footage, we went through and compared a bunch of screenshots between Season 1 and the BtS footage to show it's the same.

I feel like I'm such an odd one out given that I'm somewhat optimistic about BtS and whatever the live action series ends up as.

As much as I love the game, as a narrative it's basically hot garbage. I don't need to explain to anyone here all the ways by which the plot takes a dump, and the writing has been criticised fives way to Friday by every man and his dog. The game excels in some places (specifically with the tone/atmosphere and characterisation), but fails in others.

So for me, these new projects have a fair bit of room to make mistakes as long as they don't totally fuck up some of the core elements. Like, if the plot makes halfway decent sense, the characters "feel" reasonably consistent, it'll be a net win for me. I'm not even sure I need the tone to be totally consistent, because I could totally buy a Chloe-centric game like BtS needing a bit of a different tone to "feel" right.

So, I remain hopeful.

I'm still remaining totally open on the voice change. I even think I might grow to prefer it, but we'll have to wait and see. The problem is that Ashly Burch has a pretty distinct voice, and she's been showing up in quite a few video games and tv shows lately ... for me, it's gotten to the point where Chloe sounds like Ashly Burch, not the other way around. The new voice actor "feels" more like a random teenage girl ... so I'm kinda hoping that once I'm a few hours in and used to it, I'll grow to prefer it. Maybe just wishful thinking ...

No idea, though I was under the impression it was someone else (otherwise why would they bother to have Ashly Burch come in to supervise Chloe's writing, surely it wouldn't be an issue if it was -the- original writer?) But from what I've seen there's already a mix of pretty good stuff, with a mix of pretty bad cringey stuff. The first game had it's fair share of the latter, so I don't think it's sullying my opinion just yet.

Why this game's voice actors don't know shit about what's going on in story? I've just watched Kate's VA (forgot her name) and Hannah's livestream, what did they say at ending was soo.. I can't find words to it. thank god at least they do know these two female protags romantically involved with each other

Just look at other games' VAs, for example TLOU. While Troy and Ashley are interviewing they do know their characters' morals,feelings and more importantly 'main plot of this' story. However LiS (maybe Ashly is more passionate than them,but still doesn't know what's going on in ending) they seem like out of it, not into that much and I can't really see that passion.

Meh. He hurt a lot of people and took joy in doing so. Hard to say the fate he met, at least in the one timeline where he called Max, wasn't justice in some way. His ultimate fate is never confirmed so I guess his birthday gift is possible survival to live to answer for his crimes, expose those involved in them, and get proper help with the slim possibility he may one day walk free.

I agree. The VAs are entitled to their own opinions about the game, characters, and choices, but those do not hold any input on the canon. They are all just regular players and their words shouldn't be taken as having any value anymore than that.
You're right about Dayeanne and Hannah, Ashly raises some good points about real life but forgets this is a game where Max can prevent suffering a terrible loss. Her input and experience about grieving and accepting loss may add some powerful moments to BtS since Chloe cannot change the past and has to come to terms with losing her father and -for that time- Max.

Well you can't expect all of them to get totally attached to the characters they voiced. There's plenty of actors who have the one role they're well known for, but they don't care about it. Some even get tired of being known only for that role because then fans only see them as that or people try to cast them as an archetype which can limit what roles they get offered.
It's important to remember that the VAs are their own people separate from the characters. To them it was a job, once which they may not want to dwell on, to us it's something we don't mind talking about.
We can wish they thought things like their characters did but we can't change them anymore than we can change the characters.
