I made the build with the intent of tryharding on my HMLS, but the build also works okay for Wheel, Amy Arm, Boomhammer and Tonitrus. It's garbage for pretty much any other weapon.

You also want to use the Lost versions of Wheel and HMLS for gemming later.

Early game, Saw Cleaver and your strength will carry you.

It depends. Playing around the 40s-60s would let you co-op most story bosses. 80-100 would probably give you decent DLC co-op. Chalices are pretty much active across all the levels but being higher up won't mean that you avoid the trash stuck in Lower Pthu or Defiled. 98s a safe bet if you want to co-op with bbg but even going a bit higher won't impact downscaling.

Pre-Boss: Quite large. There's a bit of everything here like a room with a fireball rolling downstairs (fuck all on top), an arena with a bone ash hunter (healed twice. Fucker) on the bottom which led to a 2 story room with treasure on the 2nd (be wary of Molotovs raining down from above though). Treasure was wisdom

Main Layer: Shit is massive. First there's a large hallway with beast patients that has 3 paths to go. First one on the left leads to a tunnel area with not much of note. 2nd one on left led to the lever (a wandering red aura wolf + Silverbeast guards it)

Going to the right and up a ladder led to first a Jew shop, then to the pre-boss area which was huge. Had a bit of everything here layout wise. Treasure was highest tier fading lake

Boss was Abhorrent Beast. No Layer 4
This might actually be one of the fastest chalices to get to the Abhorrent Beast for Bolt Abyssal farming imo
