I'd say it's getting there, anon; it looks better now than your first post, imo. Just keep tweaking/moving things around 'til you're satisfied with the result. Once you've got that down, throw some plants and clutter in there, and you'll be all set.

I kinda want to say that on the bottom you should extend that floor out into a patio and put a fountain/seating there, but I'm not totally sure how that'll look.

Honestly, if I want a challenge or gameplay, I pick up the Sims 1 or 2. I play 4 for making Sims, aesthetics and screenshots. I really like how you can customize Sims in 4 and I've tweaked my game to an aesthetic I really like, so I just sorta use it as a screenshot machine. It's casual af but also very chill and enjoyable for me.

I liked how they weren't controllable in Sims 2 and I'm hoping this means they'll be more inclined to do stuff on their on than they were in 3. They've already said we won't get any other life states and I suspect this will be the same for any other expansions besides a Supernaturals-themed one. They've seen a lot of pushback from a vocal group who don't like occults and I think they're going to save them for gamepacks.

They did say that they debated whether they should be controllable for a long time. As someone who preferred the Sims 2 version to Sims 3, I'm happy about this because pets in 3 were kinda... bland since they had similar autonomy tuning to Sims. If they're not lying about putting in a lot of effort into making up for the change, I'm going to be happy. I liked them having a 'mind of their own' in 2. I'm cautiously hopeful.

they're autonomous either way. controlling them is just another layer of gameplay but shouldn't affect the autonomy at all. perhaps they balanced them wrong in 3, i have several mods to stop certain actions because they got annoying. the autonomy bit has nothing to do with them being controllable though.

I am not really interested in playing with pets so I am okay with not being able to control them. I think it will make the game more unpredictable when the pets just do what they want.

When I blacklist headscarves with MC Command Center does it blacklist it for all sims? I don't want my trap to be culturally enriched.

Just use the G4TW version, it works fine and is up to date with the latest patch. The instructions are literally install the base game, extract the next pack, paste over and do that like 3x for other expansions, delete a single folder, then proceed with copying and pasting some more. It couldn't possibly be more retard-proof.

There's some difference in autonomy with controllable or not in terms of programming-- that said, I mostly just like not being able to make them do whatever I want, makes them feel more like actual animals. In theory anyway, if they don't fuck it up.

no, there isn't. sims is pretty basic in that autonomy is based on a pool of actions possible, then filtered by age, traits and in s4's case, mood. its deeper than this description but thats the basics of every sims game. whether you make the decision for an action or the game does it, it isn't like your cat suddenly gains actions go to mix drinks because you aren't controlling it. who is feeding you your disinfo? it wont surprise me to see controllable pet mods

You're right about how the autonomy works but I felt there was a difference about how pets behaved between 2 and 3. I'm just speaking with my experience from those games. And sure, you could do a cheat in 2 to make them controllable but their tuning for activity was different in 2 and I do believe that was related to controllable vs not; lack of control usually means have to be tuned differently because players can't force them to do things. Ideally anyway.

On the other hand, I could be completely wrong and they're gonna be bland in 4. I do have a preference for how 2 handled pets and I'm just hoping they repeat it. Guess we won't know until November!

this comes back to what i said about it could just be programmed different. my pets were cool in 2 but they didn't seem to do nearly as many interactions even when not controlling them. in some cases on 3, you can catch them over your neighbors just sleeping and hanging out.

sims 4 seems to have good detail, less overall stuff. i'd imagine c&d will be fine. theres still no reason to not include gameplay through pets, and i wont be surprised when we see a mod for it.

I just installed the game from the link from the OP and followed all the directions except using the default install directory which I couldn't do due to my SSD not being big enough to install the game on.

Game booted up, was able to make a sim no problem, but then when I get to the select a world screen there isn't anything there. Anyone know how to fix this?
