They really need to buff the Empire at some point, especially if they keep the chaos invasion in the grand campaign. Last three campaigns I've done, Chaos razed almost the entire Empire in the first wave before Archaon even showed

I finally won my first WRE Legendary campaign yesterday. i still have ptsd

Also after I defeated Sassanids, Huns, ERE and every other major threat I basically auto resolved a bunch of shit the last 40 turns until I built the buildings and reseached the techs needed to meet the Major Victory condition.

I prefer Dyrarins Empire reskin, the lore friendly one. I don't like his other reskins but this one was good imo. Never liked that the vanilla State Troops have no leg armour at all. Some going without is fine, but none at all on a single one?

It's too bad that this is their crowning achievement, they'll never come close to the (((diversity))) that Warhammer has let them get away with. They'll never have something as different as Humans with spears fighing Shrek on a giant pig, they'll be stuck with different colored humans on different colored horses with some shiny metal attached here and there.

They'll never have trolls that walk into a line of people and start smashing them around, they'll never have Dragons, they'll never have Lizard-Centaur people that shoot lightning, etc.

This is what I intensely dislike about the Orc/Dorf campaigns. Badlandsbowl is unbelievably dull, but also absolutely necessary because:
1: You have to wipe out the main Dwarf/Orc faction to win
2. Even if you didn't, the Dwarf/Orc faction would gobble up the entire badlands and become virtually impossible to defeat in late game.

Which is pretty silly considering all the Greenskin characters are famous for fucking up the Empire and/or High Elves with the exception of Skarsnik (who, ironically starts right next to the Empire and isn't as crippled as Belegar by the lack of K8P.

I've been using Ado's lore friendly reskin. It gives them puffier sleeves and look more frilly overall. The uniforms are a bit brighter. I like overall, and I think it fits considering the stats of empire infantry compared to other races. Heavily armored empire just doesn't feel right to me. I especially dislike cosmetic mods that make a point to get rid of the floppy hats.
But unfortunately Ado's isn't perfect. If you look close some of the variants have weird clipping in the sleeves or the collar that looks out of place. It's like the unit is wearing two different shirts to get the effect he was going for. It only bothers me if I look really close though.

How do you know it has less cities then ulthuan? If you go by just provinces the southlands has more (17 to ulthuans 12). We also don't know what resources are produced there, and lizardmen have 3 factions surrounded by possible hostiles (skaven to the south, undead to the north orcs and dwarfs to the east wood elfs in the middle). It's far more likely that the undead factions will grow large either having one consume the other and become a powerhouse early on, or they ally and split the continent. Clan mors only starts out at war with the fortress of dawn elves, while the main thing that shaped the badlands bowl was the dwarf starting out at war with 4 orc factions.

That's three so far, but WH1 had four faction DLC's not including Bretonnia which was already in game. I was thinking a Demons of Chaos faction would be possible. It'll be fun a few times maybe but after a while, you'll have a good idea of how to handle it. Until we get a good AI (so never), the only way to provide any kind of challenge is for the enemy to outnumber the player, heavily. They've done this before, there's always some "thing" in the endgame that shoves you into a fight against one or more strong foes: the Roman Civil War in R1, Mongols/Timurids in Medieval 2, the Realm Divide in Shogun 2 and now Chaos in Warhammer.

DoW and Vampire Coast isn't happening, CA bases everything on the campaign and there is no reason to have a full army for the New World Colonies, Sartosa and Sundenberg are entirely different and will use Empire rosters. Kislev had a better chance for becoming a faction than DoW, DoW could only ever be a mercenary mechanic like in previous TW's unique to each provinces.

Nah, what you do is make DoW a horde faction (so that there's at least one "good" horde faction) that has a campaign objective of getting a shitton of money. You setup a psuedo settlement in a port town by paying money, where you don't actually conquer anything but can recruit armies and troops there if all your current ones die. You roam around, ask to join wars with factions, get big bonuses for after battle looting, hire units from other factions depending on what territory you're in. You don't give two fucks about the vortex but it's hilarious looting ritual sites, stealing their shit, and selling it back to factions later on for big dosh.
