Anyone know a good place to begin when learning about editing meshes for skyrim?
So far none of the tutorials I've encountered seem to deal with the issues I'm facing - everyone seem to be focusing on weapon-mods, which have nothing to do with skeletons.

Hey guys, getting a strange bug. Not sure how to explain it best so I took a few pictures.

Basically, it seems like my character's hand is offset when wearing certain armors, or that gloves specifically are offset? At first I thought the gloves I was wearing were just too big, but looking closer its clear that they're definitely off center.

Any idea what's causing this or how to fix? I really like this armor set but can't really use gauntlets with it

Importing/Exporting Armors/Bodies in 3dsMax 2012, I followed the video-tutorial of Nightasy - but it seems lackluster in most areas - such as dealing with items that does not contain a skeleton nor a body to begin with.
I guess my main issue is I can't make heads and tails of it all - and the various tutorials available only skim the surface.

I said certain armors only cause the armor I started with and one random one I found in a cave worked fine, but no. Two separate armor sets from two separate mod authors (Ursine armor set and Sithis armor set, I'm sure something similar is happening with other armor sets but I just can't tell as much (have only tried about 5 total sets before noticing the error)

I only know Blender, sorry. In Blender, you'd import something else that has a skeleton and use that as a base to transfer the existing bone weights, and then "repaint" problem areas.

Well, there's never really a complete skeleton, per se, but again, I come from Blender. Usually you should have some bones that are weighted to the mesh, but unless you're animating, a fully rigged skeleton isn't explicitly necessary.

Yes, that's exactly what I just told you to do. Import the nif in Blender, export from Blender as FBX so it brings the skeleton with the model, open the FBX in 3DSMax and make sure Animation is checked. And if you want the bones to not take over the whole viewport in 3dsmax, pay attention to "Keep as bones" in the Bones subtab, as well as their scale right underneith it.

Elven considering where you get it.
Dwarven could work if it was a Dwarven artifact originally like Volendrung or had been taken by the dwarves for study, but Elven makes more sense since you get it from merida herself in her temple.
Since it was being used and corrupted by shady sam though, you could argue it having a dwemer sheath from that point as a power controller and channeler or something, similar to their set up for the elder scrolls.

Fill her up is just a thing to inflate your belly to show how much sperm you have inside you. And it adds configuration for different race ejaculation amount. Beeing female is a pregnancy framework with different phases and shit and you can choose to make it birth npc, item or soulgem. Sexlab inflation framework ties mods that resize character assets together so that they work without trying to overwrite each others settings.

Mods are the only reason I ever gave bethesda money. It's exactly all from The Amazing World of Bikini Armor by Nisetaka. The boots are from Orcish armor and the gauntlets are from Iron armor. One of the 4 or 5 versions of gauntlets and boots. There are plenty of them which is great.

You probably can't find the files because it's sneakily shoved in the Alva armor folder in Textures & Meshes. Not sure why it's put there but I guess it's because Maldron has no armor set but just the helmet.

There are mods on LoversLab that can convert vanilla (and only vanilla) armors and clothes to fit with RS Children.

Otherwise, the clothes will be invisible even though the stats increase will still be applied to your child character.

As for quests, nope, there are no quests (be it vanilla or modded) that takes account of your character's race or equipment, so you'll find no problem there.

I have problems with this general having the pasta of "SSE not being worth it"

Not everybody wants 10000 mods. I enjoy having SSE cause of how much smoother it performs for me, not to mention the mods do seem adequate for me and I'm sure many others.

For example, SkyrimSE Re-Engaged ENB, what is wrong with it that the entire update gets discounted for the original? Would love to learn

How come the "Elder scrolls" general seems more like "Modding characters" general. And don't tell me because the games/lore has been talked to death cause there is really infinite breathing room for that. & there's also only so much room to share waifus and update models.

It feels like Skyrim could have the best most robust mods for any game ever seeing as how long we'll have to wait for TESVI, yet the modding community and fanbase are fixated on character models instead of world changing things it feels. Why is there only one good civil war overhaul, as an example. Could redefine the game and add infinite content if done right.

The lore is not as expansive as you think. And a lot of people have spent many hours talking about it, but they got bored and left. The only people that really stick around this long do so because they can do in this game what they can't do in any other. Make the world and people in it look exactly like they want.

I actually go on adventures when I play skyrim, rotating through various quest mods and expansions, downloading new monsters and enemies and such, but I get bored after a while, and sometimes will just walk around the world taking screenshots. Everyone has their cup of tea, but different cups last longer

This is of course only my opinion from what I've seen, but there seems to be an idea that once something is done, regardless of quality, then you're not allowed to do better. We saw this a while ago with the one weather mod vivid weathers? and i think it was cot author got super pissed about it, and even though it demonstrably wasn't the same thing the fact it did anything similar was apparently a front upon humanity. I might have the specific mods mixed up, but it was something like that.
So you're not allowed to do better, or you'll get attacked and hated for it by those who were there before you.

Your new character is the worst thing I've seen in a long time. It's like an eldritch horror attempting to feign a human appearance.

The dark eyes look wet and gross, with thick chunky lashes to match. His lips look chapped and enflamed, and he has similar discoloration on his nose.

The speculars around his eyes add to the "wet and gross" effect as well.

His brows look masterfully manicured which is super weird on what is supposed to be a young man.

The face geometry is lackluster as well, but honestly all the textures everywhere else makes it difficult to judge just how much it should be changed.

Change his eyebrows, eye textures, and skin choices and he might be salvageable. Maybe.
