This isn't even bait: Futaba is probably the canonical winner of the Jokerbowl.
Futaba lives alongside Joker and gets wooed and consoled by him in a way that brothers don't do. She was revitalized by him. The other girls get helped by Joker, but that's it. Just helped. Yeah, that's Loki. Its concept art from the artbook and part of Goro Akechi's section. I actually submitted it by mistake, but it was actually going to be part of a post asking if Loki is actually a Justice persona, because he's more like a Devil.

Loki is usually portrayed as a Trickster god, and in P5 that's actually very appropriate, but I think for this game Loki's gone back to being a persona of the Devil arcana. In P1 Loki belonged to the Devil arcana, and in that game he's portrayed as imprisoned in bondage, presumably because it was just after he had murdered Balder. The other Aesir caught him, imprisoned him in a cave, and hung a serpent above him to constantly drip venom into his face. It perfectly fits Reiji's character arc up to that point in the game, and the earliest you can use Loki is just before you fight the human villain, which is the cause of Reiji's suffering.
In P5, Loki looks like he just broke out of prison, and is about to start Ragnarok to kill the gods out of revenge. And that perfectly fits Akechi's character arc to an absurd degree that I'm positive that Loki is supposed to be a Devil persona.

As to why Akechi is Joker's Justice confidante, it might be because that was how Joker viewed Akechi. Akihiko was FeMC's Star SL despite using an Emperor persona for that exact reason.
As to why Akechi can even use other Persona in the first place, maybe he's a Wildcard too?

I wish there was a game that combined DDS and Persona 5 (or Persona games in general)
Imagine a game set in a distorted world where the only social links are withing each other since they are trapped and want to get out.

It starts with at least 3 groups of kids trapped in a distorted world. You select which group and make alliance within them.

At the end you choose if you unite or kill other factions. Or unite against a bigger enemy and get out. There is also an option to side with the enemy.

It's Loki, yeah. It's one of those initial sketches Soejima does to figure out designs and ideas, in this case regarding Goro's boss fight where he uses Loki.

It's a really early sketch (if you look closely, it uses the first, short-haired design concept for Goro, and I can't fully make out Soejima's handwriting but it sounds like they were toying with the idea of Loki being more like an untamed Shadow and being summoned in a different way from the party's Personas at the time), but it's in line with the fact that they always intended for Goro to be the traitor and to have Loki as his Persona.

Loki's classified as Justice in the game's data, for what it's worth, though that might be placeholder data so it's possible they'd change that in a rerelease (it wouldn't be the first time they've reclassified Personas in a rerelease, though it would be the first time they've done it with a party member's Persona).

Agreed that P5 Loki looks like he's likely based on the later parts of his myths, though, since he has the stitched-together mouth he got as a result of the bet he lost against the dwarves.

I wouldn't read too much into that sketch from the Official Design Works, though. It's an extremely early sketch, and those often have little to do with the finalized version.

I was too lazy to set up a high Luck Persona with confuse for money farming, so after defeating the final boss 'normally' on Merciless difficulty, I reloaded my pre-fight save, set the difficult to Safety, then grinded the mobs for cash to fill out the compendium.

Yaldabaoth didn't give him his Persona. He's not capable of actually granting people Personas. As far as we currently know, all he did was grant him the Metaverse Navigator application, just like he did for Joker, which gave Goro the chance to awaken his natural potential. (He also seemingly kept an eye on him, since he makes several comments about his activities and hints at what the antagonist side seems to be up to, though who knows if that's as a result of keeping an eye on him or actually appearing to him as Igor like he does to Joker.)

If the Maniax book made one thing obvious, it's that they're intentionally keeping a lot regarding Goro and specific thematic elements under wraps for now, so it's probably safe to say they'll expand on his side of the story in the future. Whether it'll be in additional content in a rerelease, POV switched scenes in a spinoff, or the focus topic of its own game remains to be seen for now. Hell, I'd take a drama CD expanding on the antagonist side and Yaldabaoth in general if it comes down to it too. Just pray it's not going to be a light novel.

Yeah, Goro seems to think his Persona was given to him by the gods but it's unclear whether he means this literally or he means it's like a chance given by the gods. I'd like to know more about him as he's an interesting character and pretty unique in being the sole Wild Card with apparently no guidance who made it that far anyway.

Yusuke's pretty bad in the long run when everyone's skillsets are fully fleshed out but I do think that he's better than Ryuji during the midgame. Particularly against Shadow Okumura when you can baton pass -> Rising Slash with him and burst those annoying robots to death.

If they were going to make him Chargeless then he should have at least had way higher strength like Kanji to make up the gap or a Boost/Amp skill because for some reason he's the only party member without either.

He's still essential if you want to boost your accuracy for HT (Which I swear they nerfed the accuracy on it because I've had it miss even when buffed) after Joker Charges.
Sure if you just Reaper abuse Haru can replace him but if you want to do fights as fast as possible you need an alive team, something that Yusuke can help with thanks to evade buffing.

You get Masukukaja from since like Futaba's dungeon if you raise the right personas. Almost everyone's first turn is buffing/set up anyway. Then come late game, you get Debilitate, Tri-Auto shenanigans and then Yusuke loses his gimmick.

I still prefer him over Ryuji for most of the midgame because missing against randoms is infernal and i like Yusuke/Haru's better accuracy.

Its usually something like TD dealing 100x3 while OSK might deal 250. Assuming the Boost/Amp bonuses are both in in play.

OSK is generally better for singular enemies that can be criticalled if the rng is in your favor but in terms of consistency whether its general screen clearing or beating up critical immune enemies, then TD is better. You have no reason to not use both with Haru anyway.

Their outfits aren't a reflection of their personalities, they're a result of how they're perceived by society. In Jungian psychology personas are a part of you, but they're still masks that are used to protect you. Ann is seen as a whore, someone who only gets ahead by fucking her way there. And she hated how people judged her for that unfairly. But when she gets her persona, she turns that weakness into her strength. She appears as a dominatrix, who gains power and strength from her sexuality. After that, those rumours don't bother her any more.

Same with the others. Joker is seen as a shady criminal, but he turns that negative image into something positive: a dashing phantom thief. Makoto is seen as stuck-up and unfeeling, so she turns into a strong knight of justice. Haru is seen as a spoiled and sheltered rich kid, and she turns into a classy musketeer.

That's why I don't get all the neo-lib whining about Ann's character. Taking control of your sexuality and refusing to be shamed for it is the most feminist thing you can do. It's a real sign of how far this modern intersectional crap has drifted from the original purposes of feminism.

Green. The main theme will be sickness vs. health. Most of the party will have some sort of physical or mental illness. The morals will be about charity and community.

The plot will revolve around some sort of weird illness, like Apathy Syndrome or mental shutdowns, but with more physical symptoms and it will have the feel of a biological outbreak or plague. The human villain will be some pharma CEO who's taking advantage of the outbreak for personal gain and to create an elite class, basically Bob Page. The divine/demonic villain will be the opposite, representing humanity's will for equality by spreading humanity's suffering equally throughout the world, global communism with no evolution or scientific advancement.

The game will also finish the 'modern' Persona games. It will be revealed that the last 4 games were just setting up the real battle. The 4 greater villains were in fact the 4 signs of the apocalypse: Nyx brought Death, Izanami brought Famine, Yaldabaoth brought War, and P6's villain brings Pestilence. With the coming and defeat of those four, the world is finally ready to face the ultimate judgement from YHVH. Philemon and Nyarlathotep will also return to aid and obstruct humanity in the ultimate battle.

It's the same thing. A will to rebel is empty, it doesn't take any shape. You need something to rebel against. Unlike heroes in other games, the PT have persona that are directly shaped by their perceived role in society instead of their hidden selves. Why the fuck do you think Ann admires femme fatales? Because those characters were strong in all the ways she wasn't.

And this theme is present in other games too. Naoto accepts her childish side that she was ashamed of, and her persona looks like a toy hero as a result. Izanami covers Inaba, a farming town, in fog. Adachi's true arcana is Hunger. The method of death is wasting away. Izanami appears a thin starving corpse. I'm sure there's other shit I can't recall right now.

The plot of P5 revolves around psychotic breakdowns where people kill out of sudden rage. Yaldabaoth's goal is to create peace through conflict, he pits Joker and Akechi against each other so that the strongest wins. Shido's ultimate goal is conquest of Japan and other nations. Yaldabaoth sends militant angels against the world to enforce his will. Shido and Yaldaboath are both about creating prosperity through military force. The game explores consequences of having a police state. It's the only game where you travel to another country, and the characters are disappointed at how the foreign country has been colonized by Japanese.

So far the past 3 games fit the pattern if you look closely enough, and I think it would be a neat idea if they went further with it.
