Why are monsters called cancer when they don't actually have any cancer-tier plays? They're just overpowered with too many value units. While it's annoying, it's something that you can struggle against. You can't struggle against absolute colon cancer plays like operator-reaver-circle-LOL-nenneke-shani-henselt-whoops-did-I-just-get-100000000000-points, or henselt-anything-for-gorillion, or discard-your-entire-deck-res-your-entire-deck-but-stronger-and-with-carryover-makes-sense, or scorch-ithlinne-scorch-schirru-scorch-bork-another-scorch-scorchscorchscorchscorchscorchscorch or some other retarded type of cheese. I would actually venture to say that monsters and NG are the two only well-designed factions with interesting, flexible archetypes and non-obvious turn-to-turn decisions. Right now, I'd say that 80% of the top deck work with consistency, they mill their deck correctly and draw most of their cards.

Seems like people preferred to ban Dagon altogether rather than creating an Anti Dagon deck.
Which makes sense, since you have to win against the other decks using it and that would be extremely painful.
But hey, another proof that Dagon (Monsters) was balanced like ass. And I say Dagon (Monsters) cause is the same shit as Calveit as the start of the beta. He is so fucking good that using the other leaders is crippling yourself on purpose.

Second most used was Bran, no fucking surprises. Decks were even the same 90% of the time.

Dagon picked 5 times. I imagine it won 4 of the matches. Hilarious if you compare it with Foltest or the NG leaders.

The coinflip issue is another joke. Even if they don't address it in the casual scene, they'll have to do something in the po ladder or at least tournaments.

Well, I haven't played the game in a month (I went on vacation and fell off it, matchmaking being broke for like two weeks killed the game dead for me) but it's such a weird change in mechanics.

Weather, I could understand: That was powerful since it would effect all rows. But golds? They had benefits (not being able to be removed from game with Scorch [which now with this change makes them a liability so you can't use them for quick number boosts, which may be good for mental baits], not damaged by weather so if your opponent was weather and boosting units and you had the strength advantage, you could gold card and eat some damage while staying ahead for a few turns..., etc.) that didn't seem that strong IMO.

I'm not seeing where the "lack of interactivity" comes in. I mean, I guess it kills dead some strategies but those needed said gold immune counters otherwise they were problematic.

Gold's are the definition of non-interactive. Only 2 cards in the game can even touch them. You slam them down and they do their thing with no resistance. You could argue that this isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's still not very interactive. Can't really judge it until you see how all the changes come out

Well, that's where my problem with the change comes in: Now instead of having them be a counter-play that you slam down, now you're probably never gonna use them because they're too much a liability.

Granted, they're overhauling all the gold cards so I'm going in with an open mind. But I'm still scratching my head at why they'd change it instead of introducing more cards like those two that do effect them currently.

only at first glance. The game still has some glaring balancing mistakes with the coinflip most notably, but it's still in beta and devs are fixing shit.
Compared to Hearthstone and Hearthstone clone though, Gwent has almost no RNG which means it's less frustrating to play but it also means the game can get stale pretty fast.
