After a year of justifying the changes to TF2 and telling everyone that they were wrong for preferring how TF1 played he then takes part in this video.

I think Frothy just likes to be contrary. He's the same when it comes to Lawbreakers. When the general consensus is that something is broken, something needs nerfing or buffing, he'll make a point of telling you it's fine the way it is.

I used to respect what he had to say, but the more experience I got with the game myself the more I realised he's just wrong a lot of the time.

I do think the old rodeo and doom state system need to come back. Maybe have it so you can shoot the brain but if you press X you rip the battery out or something. Titans have E-Smoke as standard now so it's not like you don't have a defense.

Depends on playstyle. Shield is good for DPS, Launcher is good for long range/ artillery attacks and Tempered Plating is just fantastic for tanking or relentlessly pushing enemy lines for your team. The only ones that are pretty much ueseless are Fuel for the Fire and Scorched Earth. Speaking of which;

Just got around to replaying the campaign on master, why didn't they try to make all the boss fights as interesting as vipers?
Pretty much all of the bosses are normal npc titans with more health instead of an exaggerated version of that titan like they should've been.

They wanted to, but they didn't have time. As it was, the only reason we got Viper was because one dev on the team basically spent all his free time coding it as a passion project. The GDC talk where they talk about it does mention it's definitely something they want to improve for future projects though.

Another cut boss fight was gonna be on Trial By Fire, in a section where you and Sarah would have to get out of your Titans to open a blast door but get trapped in a chamber with a Legion Titan on foot, but again it was cut for time.

Honestly Titans are the best part about the game thematically. Building sized war mechs dropping from orbit to be piloted, and it's not some AC-130 killstreak thing like COD, everyone gets to be a two story killing machine with guns the size of large vehicles.

Human like mechs are just a perfect example of humanity being great enough to put vanity and ego ahead of everything else because they earned it, it's like a flag on the moon except it will squish you.

Yeah and it'd give hover a very real purpose. Right now when you're using hover in N* you're making a bet as to whether if you'll get shot to death instantly or if you'll get shot slightly less before you can back the fuck up. If you could toggle it, you could get some real good peak-a-boos going there, which I think suits the way N* plays well.
Another problem of N* is that her core doesn't fit the way she plays at all. N* is all about staying a little far back and playing peek-a-boo with enemy titans from a suitable range, while her core necessitates her getting too close for comfort. Yeah, right now they're an 'oh shit' button at best, or (arguably) a 'fuck you I win' button at worst. They're supposed to be tools you use to break stalemates but they don't really work out that way. I think core design is one of the weak points of titan combat in the game, really. Don't get me wrong though, I think Respawn crafted the titan combat excellently, it's just that some lessons are learnt the hard way for them.

I think the passive buffs offered by T1 Cores and monarch are a lot better. Stuff along the lines of Amped Damage, Amped Shield and Amped Dash (Sword Core would also count here) do a lot more to influence the tide of a battle than simply break it like the current ones do.
