You will be getting a lot of free packs and arena tickets. See what you get from them before deciding on what set to buy.
Obviously, if you have the time and want to, you can try rerolling your account for some good legos before progressing on the solo content and achievements.
The two last expansions are core to the most meta decks. The latest one (Wonderland Dreams) has a lot of nerfed cards that will refund full vial (dust), 2 of them being legos, so it's basically a free lego of your choice if you get them.
The game is really free to play friendly, so the only thing you will be wasting if you don't like it, is your time.
