We're trying to update the list of mods to avoid. Please post any mod (preferably created/updated in the last one and a half years) which has faulty scripts, causes savebloat, doesn't function properly, has major compatibility issues, is redundant etc.

So far we have:

i did not like it at all, and its clearly made for interior fair skin preview screenshots. It looks bad in exterior and most lighting scenarios.

If your hardware allows it, go for either TKRE or rampage. Those are arguably the best for "waifuposting", especially since you can customize just about everything without any deep knowledge of ENB's required.

As I said go read the STEP guide from scratch. Following it carefully to have a good base modded game first is easier and way faster than asking around about mods. You'll also naturally learn about critical mod utilities too. If you have any doubts about something specific go watch the stuff from this channel

Always read the "detailed instruction" of each recommended mods.
Keep in mind this guide doesn't have the sexy stuff, but you'll add that stuff yourself later, using all the tools and tips this same guide will teach you. That way you'll actually have a good looking, well performing Skyrim in which you'll fuck actually good looking bitches in (or get raped yourself), and even some good gameplay (ask the general about combat mods once you finish the guide)

Took me around 2.5 weeks to get to this level myself, and I have to work overtime. Take your time though, go at your own pace, this game won't die anytime soon

I'm trying to use my controller to play Skyrim on my laptop, but it only detects it when I press buttons which are mapped to the mousepad. So I can look around and draw a weapon, but I can't do anything which is normally done via the keyboard e.g. jumping.

Everything that needs cleaning.
LOOT is unreliable on this front. It relies on users to report the need for cleaning, and then someone that maintains the masterlist has to add it.
Not to mention most cleaning reports only list ITMs and deleted records. A plugin can be dirty in several other ways.
I also make sure appropriate bash tags are added where necessary.

it has the stats of daedric gear IIRC and you dont have to carry a bow or battle axe which is like 30 lbs of gear. You can get the bow spell super early at the colle of winterhold and it will level archery and conjuration magic. It's pretty strong. I did that build on a dark elf and it was awesome.

Usually the crashes happen when you alt tab or idle from my experience. If you just launch and go straight to work it's usually fine. It's always good practice to save every few minutes anyway though.
