My favorite game packs are Vampires, Parenthood and Dine Out, from 1st to 3rd. Vampires is a lot of fun if you like occults, Parenthood adds some nice depth if you're into families and legacy play (I'm not but I still got it to expand my game), and I just really like the cozy restaurant experience of going out, sitting down and ordering food even if Sims can be a little fussy about staying put.

Nnnnnope. I actually went poking in a Sims group and someone pointed out his standalone Forgotten Hollow Eternal Night mods had stopped working but now was working again with the latest tweaks to vampires. This mod has an extra Region Tuning XML so I exported that, also got the overall XML exporter and extracted the entire game to find the region codes for (most) of the worlds. Theeeen I added the region tuning to each of the old Eternal Night mods and edited them to have the right region code. So I'm waiting for daytime to roll around and see if this works. If this works, I'm gonna be baffled that somehow EA broke a mod with one update and then fixed it again with a later one.

I'm mostly just using guesswork, haha. I have some experience with modding in the past at least. It's not working so far but I'm noticing some difference between the standalone FH mod and the Eternal Night ones so I'm attempting to replicate whatever makes the FH one work... the standalone one has a single World Description file, as opposed to the EN one having multiple ones that are for individual areas rather than the entire world. Maybe if I can duplicate and edit the world description file to match the other worlds instead?

But I'm wondering, how would I back up my data so I can put it back into the new game?
Do I just make a copy of the current Sims 4 folder in my Documents and paste it back in later, or...?

You'll have a better time trying to play 1 or 2 sims at a time and letting the rest in the house be autonomous. Make sure in your settings you have autonomy for your currently controlling sim disabled so it's not fighting you for what to do. At more than 1-2, you'll be better off guiding them instead trying to control their every move. Pause time to sort of take in the moment, not to line up a queue of things to do.

The bubbles above their portraits are just their "wishes", they aren't needs. You can earn little bonus points towards extra traits by filling them, but there's no penalty for never doing them or missing them. If you "x" one out, it'll generate an infinite number.
Just let go a bit, trying to min/max the sims just makes it a chore.
If you're in a good spot to snag one, then do so, or else just let it be.

Normally I'd just say lurk moar but it doesn't hurt to be helpful from time to time I suppose. It's a common joke that originates on /g/ to label certain software as "botnet" as a general term for any malicious software. Software from Russia or China in particular is often given this label regardless of what the software actually is because a lot of malware comes from these countries.

Regarding the origin emulator in particular, it's just a piece of software that allows you download TS4 and its' DLC through Origin as if you legitimately purchased them. It's considered by some to be superior to things like G4TW's cracks because it doesn't actually need a crack for the game itself and you get new updates/DLC at the same time as people who purchased them. However, the downside is you have to run the external origin emulator software in the first place, and as it requires to be run with elevated privileges and is closed source the software could do any number of malicious things without your consent or knowledge. So while I personally believe it's safe, if you're more paranoid you may want to stick to the more traditional cracking methods.

Sims 3 for sheer amount of content, Sims 4 for running better and stuff like multitasking. 3 can't be beat in terms of content but it does have some issues with running smoothly on a lot of computers and if you have all packs installed. But it also has pudding face syndrome and a kinda messy art style. Since I mostly use Sims 4 as a 'run around and take screenshots of stuff' simulator, I can't really go back to 3 despite missing the content.
