Yes you are, DW3 is one of the hardest in the series. DW2 being the nastiest with difficulty due to chaingun archers. Archers are still nasty as fuck in 3 but nothing compared to DW2.

Why the color reuse? Because of the five powers theory. Basically, each dynasty has an internal element (fire, water, wood, earth, or metal). Each of the elements succceeds one and conquers one in a rock-paper-scissors way (and is succeeded by one and conquered by one). Shu claimed to be part of Han, and therefore used Han's red (fire). Natural succession is considered more legitimate than outright conquest, so Yellow Turbans, Zhong, Wei, and Wu (all of whom claimed to succeed the Han) use earth (yellow). And Jin succeeds Wei, so they use metal (white).

I like the idea of this, but I wish that some officers were a little harder for people to recruit. As it is, it leads to a snowball effect where the kingdom with the most officers uses their surplus officers to recruit all the free officers, and those recruited officers recruit more officers, and so on and so forth until Cao Cao has 392 officers against Sun Ce's 6.

It'd be good if the battle of boats what burned a bunch actually had more of an effect on Cao Cao.
Although honestly, I'm at a loss as to what could be done to allow more avenues for underdogs to win. I think a big problem is the weird way that battles go, where you have to manage a battle if you want to win against superior numbers (Or not lose half your army trying to take out a far inferior foe), but time still marches on while you're commanding the battle, so while you're stuck in the battle the enemy is leading legions to other cities and oh whoops, you got a city but you're about to lose two.
Though diplomacy is very helpful for this. Shame your superiors in a faction never use diplomacy.

I still don't get the 6 comparisons when we know the basic movestring can still be done but has been drastically overhauled with all the extra shit with the face buttons and R1. If it's the "clones" or weapons being cycled around to other characters, whatever you want to call it, that doesn't really make sense either, because we haven't seen a thousand spears or anything yet and it's not focused on realism.
If you want a game this looks more like, it's DW7. Take that with the good and the bad.

Wholly recommend Bladestorm. I'd say its kinda like Kessen 3 in that you have to lead a unit. Kinda not a big fan of Nightmare though despite the added content because it suffers from the same problem as Koei's early PS4 releases with blinding bloom and variable as fuck framerates. Same reason I had difficulty with WO3U.
In fact, now that I thought about it. DW9 is kinda like Bladestorm with the units and levels except everyone isn't anchored to their respective units...

Thieves were sword units in Shadow Dragon and Awakening. Out of the games features in Warriors, only Fates had an "dagger/shuriken" class exclusive for them. So, yeah, I'd expect them to just go under swords again.

Like Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, he joined Liu Bei at the very start of his career and was, inf act, Liu Bei’s lifelong friend since they were children. But rather than being a valiant warrior (or brutal thug, if you want the historical version), he was just kind of this lazy guy trying to help out his friend. Maybe he believed in Liu Bei’s vision (or get-rich-quick scheme), or maybe he was just loyal to his best friend. either way, he comes from a unique perspective as sort of the outside man.
In DW, I’d work that angle. While Guan Yu is passionate about Liu Bei’s beliefs and Zhang Fei mostly likes to fight and trusts Liu Bei to direct him towards a positive end, Jian Yong doesn’t really believe in any of the “benevolence” stuff. He’s there because he wants to help Liu Bei - or maybe just to keep him from getting killed.
Jian Yong would really serve to keep Liu Bei and the others humble - to remind them of when they were just cobblers, butchers, and whatever the hell Guan Yu was allegedly doing before joining up. He’d remind them that they were just regular people, despite all their talk of greater ideals. And in doing so, he’d remind them that they’re supposed to be fighting for regular people, to make a world where regular guys like them don’t need to be afraid of what tomorrow will bring. Whenever they get lost in their rhetoric, he would be there to pull them back down to earth and to remind them that this was all about helping out regular people like them.

You can really do a lot with CAWs in 8E. The game itself is far from perfect, but it's fun. I'd say SW4E is better overall, but 8E has a way better CAW. Been a while since I played SW4E, though. In 8E you can also make a custom warhorse, custom generic soldier (to a low degree), custom banner, and assemble a bunch of CAWs into an entire unit. There's a few hundred CAW slots, too

Now, you would say Lu Xun would be the best one as he had the highest position on the government, but aside from Yiling and Shiting (partial there because he didn't finish off Cao Xiu) he was more of a civil officer

In 221, Liu Bei declared himself emperor and gave Ma Chao numerous promotions. The SGZ mentions Zuo Ci once, according to it Zuo Ci was a man from Lujiang. He had a very special skill: Zuo Ci could extend his life by having sex. This was a skill that anyone could learn but it was very hard to do and could be fatal if done wrong.
He's also mentioned in the Book Of Later Han. According to it Zuo Ci worked for Cao Cao. One day at a banquet, Cao Cao complained that he was lacking some ingredients and Zuo Ci made the magically appear. On another occasion, though, Zuo Ci made meat and wine appear for Cao Cao and his subordinates, but Cao Cao got suspicious about where these things came from and found out that a local butcher shop had had all of its meat suddenly disappear. Cao Cao wanted to execute Zuo Ci for theft, but Zuo Ci used his magic to evade Cao Cao.
