Don't bother trying to use the different chevrons on reticules based on distance, just start zeroing your scope.
When you spot an enemy, look at any distinguishing terrain features near them like roads, buildings or hills. Check your map to gauge the distance: the small map squares are 100m vertically/horizontally and 140m diagonally.
I recommend rebinding your scope zero to the up/down arrow keys, and always unscope/rescope after changing the zero to make sure the changes take effect.

Other guy replying here. AKM is fine if you have a compensator and you are crouched/prone. If not, an SKS with cheekpad+foregrip is very nice, but my favourite is actually the M416 with foregrip + tactical stock or a plain old Kar98k

It is a completely different weapon since they made cheekpads and tactical stocks equippable. Angled foregrip is better since it dampens more of the horizontal recoil - I find vertical recoil pretty easy to deal with so I don't bother with the vertical foregrip.

The UMP is extremely easy to use while holding aim rather than actual aiming down sights and has very little recoil (especially with attachments) while also being usable at close to medium range. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.

Shotguns with a choke are amazing at medium ranges and don't require specific aim at all, they're always a good choice. STAY AWAY FROM THE SEMI AUTO SHOTGUN, it may as well fire directly sideways out of the barrel. It's a melee weapon, like literal 0-range. Don't use it.

Never fire cyclic (that means holding the trigger for ages), always fire in small bursts.

The M416 is also a very accurate rifle with a range and damage advantage over the UMP but you'll also need a tactical stock to get it as good as it can be. The SCAR is probably a straight upgrade over the 416 but I still prefer the latter personally.

Last circle was a wheat field, every enemy was crawling in the underbrush. Eventually it came down to the 3 of us, and the 2 of them. I threw a frag into some likely bushes as a hiding spot, instant downed someone, then they died because they were like 2ft from the white circle line. His friend was hiding in the bushes next time, I told my team to sit still while I snuck around looking for him. He downs me from the bushes, and I call out his exact location, my two friends just unload into the bush without even seeing him. They just filled the bush with so many rounds there was nothing he could do, and once he died, we won. It was fucking dope.

Your aim will only get better by practicing against people. If you try to win and end up spending 20 minutes slugging through the grass only to get sniped without firing a single bullet, you've spent 20 minutes playing without improving your gun skills.

I prefer Mylta for practicing aim because there's space between the buildings so you can get some legit firefights.

But even then, the next game I had a fully kitted ump, compensator, ext quickdraw, frontgrip. Meet someone around a corner, in a hallway, so 80% of my view was him, and a full mag didn't kill him.

Well a level 2 helmet can only handle a couple of shots so that's not far off. The level 1 I agree with but it's still just a videogame and they wanted to make it clear you see what type of helmet you found rather than making it similar to the tier 2 but not as armored.

I just played 12 games straight; In each of these games, I was quickly killed without being to score a single frag. All possible scenarios happened : a guy grabbed a gun before me and shot me, I entered a house where a guy was camping, I ambushed a guy but he was quicker than me, I got sniped while running in a field, everything. I'm not a great player but I'm not usually doing this poorly.

Here's what I do, and so far stupid rando's haven't caught on yet.

I try and set up shop that has a building next to it, so think just two buildings. I'll close the doors on the building that I'm not in, and leave the doors open in the building I'm in.

Get's even better.

If the building with doors closed (building I'm not in) has a window that can see to the other building, I place a first aid kit or a rifle or something to entice the player to looting it. I then go the building next door and get up against the far wall and peek through the windows and wait for someone to loot the items.

I could cut out a lot by camping in the same building, but it's more fun this way. At least for me, this has a 90% chance to work, and I've killed dozens of people this way.

All I was trying to do was hide near the middle and watch Netflix to get some easy AFK points. But someone had to come near me and I got my first memebow kill .

depends. I usually find that when doors are open players will move through with far more caution than if they were closed. Which isn't nessecarily a bad thing and usually depends on location and the game situation such as players remaining or time left until play area restriction (whether or not you are in the play zone or out). You can play around both situations. Place a medkit visibly on the floor and the player will likely assume the house is empty when they open the door and you can catch them taking your bait. On the other hand forcing a player to play cautiously by opening your doors can give you the opportunity to work around his methodical searches (such as jumping out a window from the top floor and coming back inside behind him).
