probably not, but we might as well hope

>Wait, are we getting something at tgs?
Well they said they were working on a """next gen""" Armored Core roughly 50 years ago, so we're a bit overdue by now.
>>186626927

crushed hopes and despair.

Arms forts in general felt far too fragile.
>>186641447
Can you mod Armored Core titles? With the Ps3 emu I think we could fix this.
>>186641954
It really depends on how the game was coded
Somebody's blown my cover.

going on the space elevator in AC2:AA was the coolest shit

Any mecha franchise from the past really. Virtual On, Front Mission, Chromehounds, Metal Wolf Chaos. They all deserve love.

Spyro.

>>186607437
I really hope it's a new, good AC game.
I feel as though AC will never relive the ps2 glory days though.
>>186683609
Oh yeah, I saw that on imgur a while back. The comments were hilarious because they were trying to figure out which AC it was without knowing much about ACs. White Glint and Oracle came up a lot.
>>186667931
>Virtual On
I'm still butthurt about this.
So I'm in Dallas right now. My buddy and I have some time to kill while we're waiting for another friend of ours to arrive at DFW International, so I decide to drive us to this arcade in one of the outlying towns I'd been to ten or so years ago. They had Virtual On back then and I remember hopping on that and beating six or seven people. So we get out there and the place sucks now, DDR is poorly maintained, Metal Slug is somehow modded so that the players' guns deal insane damage, Street Fighter 2 Turbo has its speed jacked up even more, and all the guns for the rail shooters are out of alignment.
But worst of all, Virtual On was gone.
>>186687262
It's Oracle's exact frame it seems like to me.

Granted, there were a lot more posters at the time around game release, but even before we were getting regular VD news, the thread was an art dump. The biggest difference is that there were four or five hour between posts and a thread could go for a month. Too many generals now and they move extremely fast, especially the gachapon game generals. Like, averaging five to eight posts a minute fast.
New guy here, can someone give me a rough play order of the AC games before AC4 and if there are any I should absolutely avoid?
Right now I OWN
Armored Core 2
Armored Core 3
Armored Core: Silent Line
Armored Core: Last Raven
How should I fill in the gaps? I know that AC2 and AC2:AA go together so I was going to make that my next purchase, but what else?
And also, I think the first three games are on PSN. Worth it?
>>186748710
Adding on to this, I'm hunting down physical copies. I don't own a PSX however which is why I'm open to the idea of the first three on PSN if they're good ports/worth it.
>>186748710
Are 3, SL, and LR the PS2 versions or the Portable?
The original trio is only on the JP store. NA and EU just get the original.
>>186749372
All on PS2, as I don't own a PSP either.
I have a PS2, PS3 (kinda on its last legs), and 360.
Just trying to get all the AC games I can.
>>186745336
I am expecting nothing, so I cant be dissapointed, and if we get something, what a nice surprise.
>>186749674
In that case, you want Nexus before Last Raven. Ninebreaker also goes before LR, but it's optional.
Between those and the AA you're looking for, that rounds out the PS2 games.
>>186750332
What about Formula Front?
And is Ninebreaker bad or something? I've seen it mentioned as skippable in other places I've looked.
>>186752732
PS2 version of FF is JP only and you don't have a PSP.
Ninebreaker is just kind of a drag to play. It's a giant training simulator with an arena stapled on. The arena has some cool opponents and the trainers will make you better at the series, but overall it's rather dull.
>>186752898
Alright so basically the last games on my list are AA, Nexus, and maybe Ninebreaker.
And how is the original armored core?
last one
>>186735686
This image just got depressing the more I read of it.
