I am tried of playing a healer and I really want to level up a DPS. As far as I remember the best way to level up a DPS is Palace of the Dead because of how long dungeon queue times are. Is there another way that I am unaware of?

They said that cats and highlanders and even lizards are generic, which implies they think elezen aren't. Yet they absolutely are. Catgirls are only generic in the sense there's a lot of them in this game, and it's not a unique character race. Elves, however, are used way WAY more than catgirls. They're the second most generic fantasy race behind humans.
Elezen also lack pretty much every feature other than the ears that tends to be the aesthetically pleasing aspect of elves. Their lanky, have odd proportions, and their faces aren't any more beautiful like they classically were.

main difference im seeing is that I am using my last ammo round on a cooldown immediately after WF whereas yours uses it for the clean shot, other than that I would imagine the dps is the same since both use the same cds in the WF window.
