It's all of them. Some mod from http://nraas.wikispaces.com can reduce lag, you can also download World fixes (https://ellacharmed.wordpress.com/category/world-fixes-2/). Ramdisk some cache files improve a little bit loading time.

You can try using cheats. Press Shift+Ctrl+C to open the cheat window and type:

testingcheats on

then press enter, and then in the cheat window type in:

cas.fulleditmode

and press enter. You can close the cheat cheat window with Shift+Ctrl+C. Now hold Shift and left click on your toddler and select "Modify in CAS" You'll be taken to the create a sim mode and from there you can manually age up the toddler.

I've been pretty good my guy.

So, I've been messing around with the sims because I've gotten a bit bored with it.

I'm using only Townies except for my player sim, and then editing them eventually when I come across some I like. I've also been just letting Sims run in the background while I do other things to see what my sim will do on her own.

Nice, sounds comfy. Usually if I want my Sims to be autonomous I just turn on autonomy and let them run around doing whatever. I usually control my own sim though so I leave autonomy on except for controlled sim so the waifu and kids can do their own thing. Works pretty well for the most part but there are some bugs that constantly makes them do dumb autonomous things like dancing, using the bar, etc, even when I've turned off annoying actions in MCC.

I know it does, but from what I've seen in the scripts it's just you can't really change anything in the game you basically use it to interface between XML files.

You'd think Zerbo's go to school mod would use a shit ton of python, right? Huge new features? Nope. Just an interaction wheel injector and a script for those interactions to exist. All the work is in XML which you have to deal with hex and decimal hashes to ID files instead of just defining variables and calling them. WW I can't check the python because he compiled everything for some reason (patreon money) but I'm willing to bet it's about the same. You just take default XML files, copy them, and modify them based on other XML files. The python just injects and defines interactions.

They say there was a huge emphasis on mod support but it seems so weird. No stock tools for anything just XML documentation. We have to use Sims 4 Studio and a bunch of other third party tools to do anything as easily as it should have been by default.

Sims has always had terrible mod support to be honest. Even porting an outfit can be a chore and you literally need third party tools. I'd like to make some mods for 3 or 4 and don't even know where to start, everything I look for 3 for tutorials seems terrible. My hope died after I spent 3 days minimum trying to add a custom drink to the game. The standardized method by popular modders is adding a bunch of new replicas of the food/drink menu instead of trying to inject their stuff into the main one. Filling every fridge with a 5 second loading time and a bunch of custom menu options. Even then it was still an absolute mess I couldn't get stuff working for. And this is like, the one thing I'm not an idiot in. So it's pretty awful.

I'd gladly support an open source attempt at a life sim but there's really not much. FreeSO isn't greatly made and is too scared of EA to do anything, Second Life doesn't count and is very uncanny valley, and the only other attempt I've seen has been a >unity< game. No.

I've done a bunch of scripting for SL. Despite being old and limited in a lot of ways, its still the only platform you can plop down a new prim and start working on stuff in front of other people. Sims really needs an official scripting language, easy way to make mods and shit. Its why games like Skyrim are terrible yet one of the most played games ever.

With the recent Sim City tanking and ME Andromeda being so bad that they canceled any future development for packs, heres to hoping they learn a lesson. Sims 4 gets shit on a lot, rightfully, because its 1/4 the game it should be due to shifting from online after SC crashed.

It amazes me a company the size EA is can mess up so many franchises. Everything they touch goes to shit but they keep gobbling up franchise after franchise and making money. Why haven't any of the Sims expansions since TS2's Nightlife added some form of "attraction" system?

In TS2 Nightlife gave them "Chemistry" and you could give sims two "turn ons" and one "turn off", e.g. they could be attracted to "red hair" and "makeup" but turned off by "facial hair", so sims that perfectly matched each other's turn ons would get a big boost to romantic relations

to my knowledge though TS3/4 haven't really done anything like that, it's basically just purely "do they grind enough relationshit points"
