The +3 hat gives 1 more defense, but it also gives "DEF down".

It's 29 vs 28 when I equip them, the DEF Down doesn't seem to show its effect on the stat screen right away.
But it's probably some really nasty penalty when I go into the dungeon, or into battle.

But, i just wanna say that, opnions do are subjective, but you can say how a game/book/movie is good or bad, based on parameters. Of course, if said parameters don't fulfill what you look in a game, maybe you will disagree with the other opnion. And more importantly, and this is where i think people make a lot of confusion, if a game is worse in x parameter than other games, it doesn't make the game intantly bad.

There are maybe RPG's with better dungeons than Neptunia? Probably. Superior battle system? Quite probably. More engaging story? A bit subjective, as Nep aims to be lighthearted and comical, but if you know your shit about scripts and shit (Or just browse trough tv tropes a lot.) you can have your say about the general story of a game.

And them, does neptunia have good waifus? Subjective, but looks like quite a lot of people on the internet likes them. And you waifu is probably shit to them, so, draw here? Does neptunia suceed in making good puns and being comedic? My friend who has the highest standards in any player i know, and who could barely go trough the repetitive battles in-game (He quit the game after forgetting to save for 3 hours and losing to a random boss.) said the game is actually fun, so, i do kinda believe the game has a fun plot.

Now, you pick what parameter matters to you in a game, and decide if Neptunia is worth or not. You can still like or dislike despise all that, tough.

But more importantly, we need to avaliate "good" or "bad" stuff. I wouldn't like to live in a planet where every JRPG was a clone of Final Fantasy 1 or some shit like that. Persona's 5 dynamic battles wouldn't happen, or Devil Survivor 1 (Wich is the best SRPG/Turn-based RPG i ever played, gameplay-wise.)

That's it, we do need people saying games are shit, and if you're mature, you can discern if his parameters for saying that will correspond to yours, and them make your assumption.

All I have to say about good/bad games is that I've played enough games to know generally if I like a game or not even before playing it based on varied opinions on the internet and gameplay videos. I tend to read more reviews rather after I beat the game than before to see what reviewers though about it. Though to be honest, I care less about other peoples opinions about games I have fun with than I did before so even that checking is less than before. So eh, these days I hardly play games that I think are bad. I honestly have fun with them.

Sophie was hollow tripe if you're a longtime fan. It's ok newbie fodder, however and I've seen quite a few people get into the series through it.
Feris was a dogshit openworld game, but still felt better than Sophie.
Lydie & Souer could be ok-ish.

After Shallie+ and the release of Atelier Sophie, Vita receieved the newest Atelier the same day PS4 did. So Vita ports of Atelier games have been coming the same day. Though with the third installment of Mysterious series, Liddy and Soeur, Vita releases will most likely be over.

The latest Vita ports haven't really been the most solid, Firis had a shaky framerate and a was a bit shit looking overall. That was due to the nature of the game, which was open world. And Vita is not the newest machine with highest memory so they had to make compromises.

Personally I still think they're good games, offers me almost a month of fun. Many fans have been disappointed with the mysterious series since it made changesto the core formula. Sophie especially made some changes like no time limit and no character endings. Some of them were kinda reversed in Firis. Personally I think Firis was better than Sophie.

Utawarerumono highly recommended, it's more of a VN though. And I recommend reading the first one on PC before reading the second one.

Sophie is an Atelier game, you kinda know what you're getting. Though no time limit and no character endings, that's kinda shitty but I had enough fun with it anyway. Vita version is a bit rougher than other versions.

Toukiden 2, probably solid but I've sailed away from hunting games for now. Too much time for less fun than I personally want from a game. If you want a hunting game it could be great. Vita version looks rough.

Undertale, no clue looks unappeling. Has a fanbase that many seems to hate. I have no nostalgia for Earthbound or whatever it's taking its nostalgia from so I'm not the intended audience so I haven't followed it at all.

Utawaremono is probably the easiest game to recommend on that list, and as others mentioned, you should play the first one on PC.

For Undertale, don't let the fanbase turn you off from the game. It's definitely an interesting experience worth having.

I know that feeling. Having two main designers wasn't the brightest idea from Gust. Hopefully they go back to having one in the next trilogy. Though even then I probably wouldn't have liked either of their styles as much as I liked Hidaris. Clear, strong lines FTW.

Toukiden 2 is pretty fun. I feel like it makes numerous improvements on the original's gameplay but adds enough to actually feel like a new game instead of just an overglorified patch. There's a demo on the PS Store, give it a try if you can.

I'm not too familiar with Compile Heart/Idea Factory stuff. The only game I've played from them was another Sting-developed title, Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection. It was a fun Dept. Heaven-like RTS/SRPG.

The games are still solid, but there are a lot of vocal haters here. I wouldn't recommend you listen to them, since many of them often don't know what they're actually talking talking about and also likes to make up things to make it look like the newer ones look like they're worse than they are.
