As far as i know the developers team changed, that was the reason for the first big update.

Don't know why they changed the game again, i think it was fun. It was really unbalanced and the card system was kinda annoying after a while though. Couldn't play since then so i can't tell if it's now better or worse.

Impossible, shitters will make you lose your mind one way or another. I usually just go to the restroom and splash water on myself while trying to figure out what the fuck went wrong with the game.
Last game I was fucking 12-0 in a 15 minute game and WE STILL LOST. I had all the jungle pressure and camps but my team mates fed the moment I left their lane. There's nothing more infuriating than losing to shitters because of your team that has a combined 2 and a half braincells

She is very very strong. You can charge as a bear to go into their backline, stun, 1 to deal damage then turn back into druid form use your 2 to cripple them and if your team isn't braindead they will have a bunch of squishy with reduced protection and unable to escape for easy kill. You can use your 1 and 3 in human form to heal and by the time you have done that you can turn back into a bear to stun them again.
Right now I would say she is better than Ganesh in everything except maybe objective securing.

I tried reinstalling and playing this again after a break from it for years

are bugs/stutter stepping a usual thing in this game? I've played plenty of other games with no issues but smite gives me lots of performance issues. Is there a way to play it without the use of steam?

I'm glad to see most of the Gods I use to play haven't changed much, but have the new ones overshadowed the new ones in terms of just being power creeped?

No, new god tend to be a bit better but that's because they have been less patched. Some god come and go like Freya, last year she was OP, then they nerfed and after that removed fatalis so she became shit but after that she was buffed to become OP again and now she is nerfed again. Except god like Anubis, most god come and go out of the meta depending of the buff and nerf.

There's not many gamebreaking bugs, most of what you described comes from servers bugging out and causing a bit of stutter at times. Also smite is poorly optimized so it could also be your settings.
