Was looking at the map likely for game 3 and I believe they will have to stick Cathay in.

I'm saying this due to the fact that each game must be a standalone but also the Eastern Steppes. The Eastern Steppes contain the mongol type factions such as the Hung and Kurgan (could be represented by Norsca but with added horse archers) the Hobgoblins tribes led by the Hobgolba 'Khan'. Below the Eastern Steppes is the Great Bastion and then finally Great Cathay themselves. The Great Maw is also at the borderline between the Mountains of Mourn and Cathay.

For the east side of the Warhammer World to be a standalone game, the Eastern Steppes must be included and ultimately Cathay as well.

A far east could easily recycle factions with beastmen, high elf outposts, skaven, greenskins, chaos daemons, and norse (Hung?) in addition to Cathay and the Ogres. It could be a lively theater with a lot going on, but I don't see why they'd make it and I hope they don't. Expanding the map east just a bit to cover Chaos Dwarfs + Ogres while adding the realm of chaos would be plenty.

Pretty even match desu. They both have numerous disease ridden populaces and upper classes. Chinese would have a better trained regular military along with better tactics though lacked all the monstrosities, magic etc stuff the rats would have. Also skaven are so highly prone to infighting that any invasion would probably either have to be a really fast blitzkrieg or suffer major attrition if it'd ever slow down even a little. Depends on what you have available tech and unit-wise and what the enemy composition is, sadly every battle is in the open sea so there's no terrain to take advantage of.

Bigger ships tend to get easier to win battles with but they are slow and cumbersome even with the favour of wind, so you want to take some of your heaviest available as your heavy hitters, then something more medium weight to actually be able to move around. Light ships can be moderately useful if they're not too heavily outclassed but you have to get good and micro them a lot so they're not always worth it.

Honestly, I'm pretty interested in what they'll do with Game 3. Both Game 1 and 2 were mostly obvious in what factions they'd contain and which geographical area they would cover. Only ever build missle Gladys desu. They can fly away from other enemy lords and not take damage whilst killing them. And if the enemy has their lord on a flying unit (which isn't often with AI) you can lure it back into your archers and all shoot it to bits.

I have a good idea of some areas as do mention the inhabitants in some areas. The Dark Lands have Chaos Dwarfs, Beastmen, Greenskins such as Orcs, Goblins and Hobgoblins. The Mountains of Mourn have Ogres, Beastmen, Greenskins (especially Black Orcs), Hobgoblins, Gnoblars, Empire communities and Dwarf expediations. Chaos Wastes have Chaos Daemons, Beastmen, Warriors of Chaos, Hungs, Kurgans and Hobgoblins.

There is also the Haunted Forest that could have Wood Elves in it and the Dragon Isles that have Lizardmen there.

There are many options for factions but not as well known as the other parts of the world.

Yeah pretty sure they do. Load her up in Quick Battle to double-check. They were great because they can dish out Lord-levels of damage without risking taking damage from other lords or units. They are also a novel playstyle that suits Elves. Non-brainer choice for me.
