The game is doing pretty well financially and on terms of activity, content can be slow so play in bursts. You technically missed a lot by not unlocking story episodes, but it's not much to grind gold>covert gems>buy them, besides that you have a lot of new frac/PvP maps to work with, and dungeon rewards got better. Plenty of content if you wanted to come back.
