Everyone thinks Super Knuckles was pink. But that isn't true. In Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles' super forms had a white pulse. Their sprites would shift between the normal base color and white.

But here's the thing, only Sonic got a completely different sprite as Super Sonic. Tails and Knuckles still had the same sprites. So, their base color was the same as normal. Because Knuckles was still red, his super form looked pink because white+red=pink, but it is apparent that he's actually still just red and he only had a glowing aura around his unchanged body.
