The answer is you really can't since 90% of it isn't even implemented in Canny Valley. The only thing that is implemented is the desert tile for the Storm Shield. The quests aren't in, nor the map or any Mission tiles. Multiple people kept telling them they should wait back in Alpha, but they decided it was time to push to Beta.

To be fair, it can be a bit confusing since there's so much to take in. There's a lot of shit on there and a lot to read. Few people will bother looking at the smaller nodes once they understand "this is each of the four BASE stats" and pay more attention to the big shiny ones, so missing stuff like "gotta have X Quest done" or "must have 30 nodes purchased in tree" are easy to miss.

The way the AI works is actually to avoid abuse and just making it take 500x as long for them to reach an objective.

They'll avoid walls and take your path IF it isn't substantially out of the way. If the walls are very weak / the entrance to your path is far away / they'll opt to destroy the wall instead. Think of your paths more as a funnel to catch them as their pour in from some direction. The stragglers / odd ones are the ones you're there to deal with.

I found a way to make enemies go almost exactly where you want them every time: Build many layers of extra walls on the outside of where you want them to go.
I haven't gotten to the second area though and I expect enemies to be strong enough that the short distance this covers for enemies to walk on is worse than just setting up thicker walls and more traps in kill zones. I don't know yet, I main constructor and am having a ton of fun figuring out the best ways to build. This game's like Orcs Must Die + Terraria to me.

What's it good for? It seems to be such an insignificant amount even with a huge base. Where I am at it would garner maybe 5-10 resources/minute, lategame I can imagine that being maybe 20 resources/minute.
Unless there are levels where resources are so limited and time is so constricted that you can't get out of your base to cut down one of each type so that you can repair your base for the rest of the game, what is the use in this? It's such an insignificant amount of resource generation.

I see, I see. So a quick test here shows that it kills a regular level 3 husk in 3 hits, roughly the same damage as my +2 pickaxe against the same enemies. So it doesn't show, but it currently does about maybe 30 something damage.
This is at 64 Tech. Maybe it's 50% of Tech as bonus damage then? That would sound about right.

PS. This was tested without the Fully Contained perk (increases reflect damage of BASE by 50%), but this test immediately convinced me that it was worth leveling up to get it.
30(or now 45) damage every time they swing at it adds up a lot faster. Now I'm also motivated to actually dump points into tech where I can.
