I'm just not liking it in the same way I liked 2.0 Bard. My DPS is basically entirely reliant on RNG procs and what not that when I practice on a dummy it's hard to tell if I am getting better, or if I am just getting luckier.

Well the basic opener for level 70 MCH from 0 heat that seems to cover all the bases for me is (I don't do savage though so insert potions or whatnot where you feel it's necessary):
Hypercharge at pull, Hot Shot - Barrel Stabilizer - Reload - Split Shot - Rapid Fire - Wildfire - Slug Shot - Ricochet - Split Shot - Reassemble - Clean Shot - Quick Reload - Slug Shot - Gauss Round - Clean Shot.

The cooldown cycle will let you get in another Reload with quick reload cycle where you go Reload - Split - Slug - Split - Clean - Quick Reload - Split - Clean.

You can use the ability called Cooldown around wherever you feel comfortable till you get mechanics of fights down so long as it's 75 at the minimum. It can get really confusing trying to keep track of shit flying around AND your heat build-up. For the sake of Overheating for wildfires getting used to using Cooldown around 90 or 95 can help but do what feels comfortable.

Only overheat if you have Barrel Stabiliser ready to go, or ready to go in about 20 seconds because then by the time you overheat, and the gauss barrel can be tossed back on, it'll be ready to go. If you don't have any troubles, you can expect Stabiliser to be available every subsequent Wildfire.

Pushing into Overheated Wildfire the way I do it is mostly the same as the opener, except minus Barrel Stabilizer, and after quick reload but before I slap on Wildfire I just use Flamethrower to push me over the heat margin and throw Wildfire right as it ticks. Riding closer to overheating tends to make this part go quicker and I guess give you less DPS loss overall, as well as keep you safe from mechanics. Someone's probably got a smarter/easier way to overheat than that, so hopefully me posting the wrong way to do it inspires them to correct that.

All of the Ascians so far are named after the Scions of Light from FFXII. The Scions of Light were only ever mentioned in text as being counterparts to the Espers, or Scions of Darkness.

I know Zodiark has also been mentioned a few sparse times throughout the MSQ. It should be interesting to see where, if anywhere, they go with all of this.
