Unfortunately the jazz music just got too contemplative because I was thinking about how Trissbutt was the first moviecard legendary I pulled and how I played it in monster decks when everyone said it was a shit card, but now that it's the hot and happening thing I'm too much of a hipster to play it any more. My only consolation is that it's not a particularly good moviecard so I don't miss it much.

Thus far I would rate my moviecard golds thus:
Vilgefortz, his cape is absolute trash but it's one of the best moviecards and with a good sound. Just don't look at his cape. Don't you fucking do it.
Saskia, slow motion bullshit moviecard but lots of good womanly grunting and the swirly fire is fine. S'alright.
Trissbutt, boring sound and pretty dull animation. Nothing really wrong with it, just kidna think the regular art's fine.
Letho, one of the worst moviecards in general and an absolute shitshow for a gold. Bad animation, shit modeling (Look at his fucking clown shoes, look at his completely 2D knife that goes invisible when the blade turns toward you) and the stupid fast running animation and sounds at the start. Deeply offensive card.

Yeah, those are good ones. I've been waffling a bit on what I want to spend my moviecard powder on after I upgraded Vilgefortz. He's the only one where I felt like it dramatically improves the card even though there are others I like. Almost thinking I may movie some bronzes and silvers I like more than the golds. I like playing queensguard fairly often so they're tempting, and NR is still my favorite faction even though I don't really like where they're at right now so I could make a movie waifu-in-peril with Margarita. And Dethmold's a pretty excellent one. Thaler's kinda tempting too just because I've always liked him. Hoping we get a Thaler player portrait.

On a somewhat related note, what border goes best with Dandelion portrait? I'm torn between the red wooden one and the silver/knight one. The purple plume works well with his hat but the red wooden one seems to work better for him in general.

There's another bug where if you transmute a Wild Hunt Rider, it doesn't actually transmute the one you picked. Since all three of them have the same card name, the game just picks one to transmute, so you can't reliably transmute all of your Riders. Pretty sure the same is true for all the trios that have the same name.

Looks like juggling good draws is almost impossible, but if you do draw well the deck is very potent. However, that exact line of reasoning also applies to full consume, with the only exception that you wont have xboxhueg vran warriors running around as they'll never get very high value w/o harpies. You'd need to get rid of

I knew you'd say that, but many people do think he is. And ironically enough I can throw your words right back at you, because woodland isn't the strongest gold in the game, he just fits the meta really well. Remember how he was considered mediocre only a little more than a month ago?

For another example, Caranthir is better than Eredin. Even though if he does not provide deck thinning, he does provide an additional frost which you'd never be able to get any other way, which is essential for Imlerith to be even ran in frost decks.

I think the majority of the leaders are weaker than their golden counterparts, the big advantage of leaders is that they can be used on demand whereas golds need to be drawn first.

Can someone explain me what the point of this game and CCG in general when you are basically required to use decks someone else made, and the only thing you do is sink your own time to check out if it's actually that good or not?

Building your own decks is the fun part.

You have a slight point for: "what's the point of building anything if the optimally best decks are already determined". But I'm convinced the singleplayer portion of the game will completely fix this point for those it bothers.

There is also a bit of rock paper scissors constantly going on in the meta with constant deck tweaking, so it really is not completely static. Example - if everyone starts taking mushrooms, you don't play buff decks, etc. The meta does move.

i was thinking of making a henselt machine deck, the idea is that you can use henselt on the kadweni siege platform to replay a machine several times over (even put an operator in my deck to have an extra one),the problem is that i'm running too high with my cards and have no weather clears,i could remove to sergants and commandos and put BSC instead but i'd have zero deck thinning that way.

the remaining gold slot is meant for bloody baron once i'll have him, i'm also considering putting sabrina in and doing some meme magic with her and shani, although that's probably a bad idea. please help

The game said one Vrihedd Vanguard had 16 power while another had 15, when in reality both had 15 power, which my opponent must have seen. It's probably got something to do with me using Ida to Quen the Vanguards, or with Operator cloning them.

it's more to do with his attempt at making an armor deck, generating more armor on his redanian elites after they're already popped would generate a lot of points for him, even though it's far from a competitive deck nowadays it gives him something to work for. And to the OP, an additional heavy cavalry would be a must for this to work well tho, and get yourself another elite quickly after.

i had a real hard time with this since NR really isn't a faction for new players you are going to lack tons of cards you'll need but lets teach you the ropes.

golds: you don't have any other options right now since these are the only cards you have, you should use geralt when your opponent has a 10+ points lead over you so you'll get the 3 points brave bonus, or keep him as a last card for round 3
triss - you use her to take out a card that causes you trouble if he's 5 str or lower
philippa - a really good gold that you'll probably use as NR even late game, she has very low str (1 points) but can hit for 15. she hits in waves of 5,4,3,2,1 so you'll only get the full effect if the right conditions are in place
scribe - you use him and choose one of the other golds from your deck to play, he has no effect or str besides that

silvers - notice i only gave you 4/6. it's because you have no decent silvers cont in next post

For armor NR i'd definitely recommend redanian knight over BSC, you can leech some additional points off and they're pretty good against weather. Also, commander's horn is a straight up improvement over thunderbolt since you have a free silver spot anyway.

rot tossers kill the weakest unit on the row you placed it's cow carcass (you'll understand when you play it) after 2 turns, the effect stacks so if there are multiple units with the same str they all die
you use your leader,cahir and the decoy to play the rot tossers all over again
besides that you have NG's silvers that are some of the finest in the game:
cynthia - when you play her you get to see the strongest unit in your opponent's hand and she gets boosted by it's power. a killer card to play in round 3 but usually you''ll play it early round 1
peter - he's like madroeme except he has a 4str body and you can decoy him, great at destroying heavily boosted enemy units. or for reseting heavily damage units of your own
fringilla - if you play her between two units the unit on the right gets the same str as the unit on the left. you can use it to really boost your units (cont)
