Well I haven't been able to play much this week since I had lots to do at work plus my pc has been malfunctioning. Been testing some stuff and I'm fairly certain by now my power supply is either busted or doesn't provide enough energy for my whole system now that I've put some extras in there. use quick select tool then use the pen tool to add/delete areas on the selection to make it smoother then open a new layer with the selection still active and use the brush tool to fill it with any color (usually black it doesn't matter iirc) then put the original image above the layer, right click, make clipping mask. Now you use the brush tool on the black layer to easily add or delete areas and make it a lot smoother. The final touch and I ALWAYS recommend doing this and it's the key to make shit look super clean and legit is to take the blur tool and go around the edges of the cutout (after flatenning both layers, make sure to copy them both in case you need to edit something else later). The blur essentially smooths the corners and stuff so your image isn't so obvious that it's a photoshop cut out, I see almost no one do this at a lower level and it instantly makes you look like a pro

Fighting games are like the definition of know yourself and know your opponent, so first is find out your characters good moves and combos.

Don't worry if some seem a bit too tricky to use in fights just use ones you like at first, just watch some youtube stuff for combos. A good way to see if a combo is viable in a match is watch some tourny vids of that character, again that stuf is easy to find on youtube. Being that you play Akuma, Tokido is the obvious choice for what works and doesn't right now.

After that play matches and take mental notes of when stuff works and doesn't work so you can learn match-ups. Your best bet is Battle lounges for this as you can play the same opponents again and again and they'll generally use the same character, combine that with some rank play and your good.

It may seem like alot of effort but it's alot of fun as well. Good luck.

Forgot to mention but my execution is surprinsgly pretty good, I did all trials easily and I can do most of the Akuma BnB combos consistently, my problem is learning what to do in the right situation, I think I'm just too dumb to learn that the hard way.

But it's hard to convince a character loyalist to change his character, Daigo had to suffer with you for a long while until he gave up and switched to Guile, he really wanted to make Ryu work for some reason and it boggles my mind, not to mention Guile is also a super safe option compared to Ryu, Daigo would probably never touch an unorthodox character such as Birdie and Zangief.
