Could be kind of interesting to see who could hit the target, who could hit the target if it was somewhat behind a wall, who could hit a moving target. Could parent a button to a moving platform, I think it would be very susceptible to lag on the moving target portion.

Could have a shooting gallery where the targets were all in different places, could only hit each target once and you see how many points you could get. Scoreboard doesn't do well with lots of updates though, bit crashy.

What determines the strength/distance/speed of an explosive jump? Is it just the damage that the weapon deals? This would explain why a sticky jump allows for faster and farther distance, but it doesn't seem like it would be that simple.

Heavy - Big guy, has has knockback resistance since forever which increases further when fully spun up.
Soldier - Pretty heavy but still obviously moveable by most things. Mantreads make him just as- if not more resistant to enemy knockback than Heavy.
Spy - Immune to knockback when disguised if I recall correctly. Otherwise average weight.
Demoman - Above average
Medic - Average
Sniper - Average
Engineer - Might be lighter than average.
Scout - Very light. Can use the knockback from rapid fire bullet weapons like miniguns & sentries to escape. Shortstop turns this up to 11.
Pyro - Probably almost- if not just as light as stock Scout but can also reliably surf rocket damage due to higher health.

this is just off the top of my head. i don't know the actual values but this is what it feels like.

the only thing preventing TFC heavy from playing offensively was that he was too fucking big to grenade jump. varying levels of knock back resistance between classes have always been an innate balancing tool in team fortress. it is a double edged sword no matter how you look at it. if heavy was as light as scout and scout was as heavy as heavy there would be a massive problem.

i had a dream that valve released a massive update on tf2's 10th anniversary
there was way more content than just community maps and skins
i believe they fixed a lot of netcode issues and bugs that existed since the start of the game, introduced a flawless mm system and somehow made it so people would play maps other than 2fart and dustbowl
they introduced more weapons than in the polycount update and all of them were conceptually interesting and balanced
they integrated the frontline update as well as made tutorials for each class set in the frontline setting
then i think there was a short singleplayer campaign for each class after you finished each tutorial

AND NONE OF IT WILL EVER EXIST

consider a map like thundermountain stage 2, there are full ammo packs everywhere, and if I take a minute away from soloing the enemy team my own team gets wiped.
now consider that the spy literally doesnt have to be visible except for maybe a second at a time. the only classes that can give chase as he runs from ammo pack to ammo pack is the scout and the soldier (demo cant give chase well indoors) with soldier you have to choose to use your rockets to chase him or shoot him, and with the hundreds of spy health points that get refilled you will run out of clip.
scout is the best as he can run about as fast and can unload his whole clip into the spy, plus he has mad milk
but any other class youll have trouble killing a competent user of it, the speed boost is just really strong,

Have you not played in a while? The Dead Ringer has gone from being a "get through most classes" watch to being a "get past anyone other than a Scout using Mad Milk" watch. It's got a really high skill floor as it makes up for mistakes made by the player, allowing even below-average Spies to become a huge nuisance to the best players in the server. Mistakes such as dropping your cloak early or running into a Pyro are remedied by maintaining the speed boost outside of the cloak and giving you afterburn immunity.

They gave the Dead Ringer a series of buffs and nerfs back in July 2015. The buffs included a speed boost and afterburn immunity during the first 3 seconds of the cloak, making the Spy run faster than the Scout whilst invisible and basically become nigh-on impervious to Pyros unless the Pyro caught you in a corner. They also replaced the "ammo boxes give at most 40% cloak" with "-35% cloak gained from ammo boxes". The only notable nerf in this update reduced the damage resistance from 90% for 7 seconds (1250 max health) to 50% on the triggering of the dead ringer (250 max health) and then linearly decreasing damage resistance from 65% to 20% for 3 seconds (358 max health to 157 max health) and then 20% for the rest of the cloak (157 max health). This update also made afterburn, bleed, jarate and mad milk last half the duration on all cloaks.

An update in Dec 2015 increased the damage resistance on the triggering of the Dead Ringer from 50% (250 max health) to 75% (500 max health). This update also made it so that players could air-strafe out of consecutive airblasts, making the Pyro an even weaker counter.

In July 2016, they buffed the Spy's movement speed from 300 HU/s to 320 HU/s. This also increased the Dead Ringer's speed boost speed from 405 HU/s to 432 HU/s.

The total distance travelled under the 7 seconds of Dead Ringer cloak increased from 2100 HU to 2415 HU in the Gun Mettle Update and then to 2576 HU in the Meet Your Match Update.

It's a minor annoyance at best. They're about as irritating as a housefly and as effective. Actually good DR spies are rare since it's countered simply by having more than 1 or 2 other competent people on your team.

Alright. The Spy has the choice of committing to whatever he was doing or Dead Ringering out. He uses the Dead Ringer and runs off in a direction of which you are not sure.

He now has a choice:
A) Be super aggressive, decloak behind a wall and be back in 5 to 10 seconds without a Dead Ringer ready.
B) Grab some nearby metal and be back to harass your team in 15+ seconds
C) Be a nuisance and go to destroy your Teleporter Entrance. This will give him more than enough time to get a new Dead Ringer ready or even pick up metal on the way. Then he'll be back to harass your team about 30+ seconds after you attacked him.

That Spy can be back as soon as 5 seconds but he can wait to attack as long as he wants. It's very difficult to actually chase him down unless you are using Mad Milk as the Scout.

Unlike an Invis Watch or Cloak and Dagger, a Dead Ringer Spy can consistently get out of being killed if caught. A Dead Ringer Spy who is alive and behind your team ready to strike at any moment is more of a threat than an Invis Watch Spy who is actually dead and waiting to respawn.

The IW and the C&D take skill, time and awareness to get behind the enemy. They can leave a huge impact, but they are easily punishable when caught. There are numerous ways to counter the Invis Watch and the Cloak and Dagger, including all fire weapons, all bleed weapons, Mad Milk and Jarate, weapons with high firing rates (both SMGs, all Miniguns, all Pistols), the Short Circuit...

The Dead Ringer doesn't require any of that. Any player can just rush in, take a hit, trigger their Dead Ringer and just rush through the enemy's front line. Players almost always know that you are a Dead Ringer, but are almost entirely powerless to do anything about it unless they have Mad Milk.

It's not fun to go up against and it makes up for bad play habits.
