Chloe gets powers in the sequel and that doesn't really work as a standalone. I'm serious though when I saw it's dark, I'd say it makes All Wounds look like fluff at times. Main characters get abused, beaten, and killed.
Despite that, I felt the payoff was worth it and things do work out in the end.
If you liked Better Then and the Pricefield spying and action kind of stuff then you'd probably appreciate this. But keep this in mind: Things get a lot worse before they get better.

Depends on what kind of person you are, if you're playjng the game as an omnipotent observer then bay probably makes sense to you, if you're playing with actual human emotions, you save Chloe. That last chapter with Sean Prescott was creepy and I'm glad Frank laid him out. Sean will probably cause more trouble later on but he has a lot of enemies now.

A good amount of the people here really like it. I'm one of them but I can admit it has some flaws, mainly some of the characters seem a little too nice at times and the actual story doesn't progress every chapter since there's no long-spanning villain or dilemma. All conflict comes from dealing with past events and characters wondering if they deserve happiness. No storms, murderers, or timelines breaking in this one.
But if you want something about Max and Chloe finding a third option, watching their relationship grow, and seeing a lot of characters become friends, then you can't do any better.

I'd also highly recommend Small Things by Aerolumen. Kind of a similar set up with a third option being found, Pricefield, and tons of cute moments and friendships formed. That's also a complete story so you read it to its end.
At least until the sequel and side story.

Best case scenario: Jefferson is found criminally insane and is put into a mental hospital and kept drugged for the rest of his life.
Most likely scenario: Jefferson ends up in an Oregon state prison for the rest of his life and is put into solitary after other inmates try to kill him.
Worst case scenario: Jefferson was drugging and killing people in multiple states, he gets a federal trial, and is sentenced to death by lethal injection, dying while he can't move and while people observe his motions and watch his fear.

Or, depending who you ask, those best and worst labels could be flopped. In any case, Jefferson's not going to hurt anyone else and he will pay for what he did.

It was great seeing Max stand up to her own nightmare and fears. Very few times did she actually looked scared. She just watched what was going on with an unamused look or even talked back to the vision of herself trying to beat her down. If the nightmare was trying to bury her and make her quit, it has the opposite effect since it made Max fully realize what her feelings were. Max is strong.

Warren was on lunch break from his job as a technician at a lab. He had finally figured out the correct amount of potassium to create the desired explosive effect, which would impress his boss and the pyrotechnic company that hired them.

He took out his phone to fool around with as he sat down in the commissary and noticed an unread text from...

"...Max Caulfield?!"

Warren quickly opened it. He hadn't spoken to Max since her wedding night a few years ago. She hadn't responded to any of his drunken text messages that night, but today she had sent him a text out of the blue. His eyes went wide as he read the message.

"Hey Warren. It's been awhile. Chloe and I were wondering if you still lived in Seattle. If so, we wanted to know if you could do us a favor? We're trying to conceive. It's difficult and something happened last minute. I know this is awkward, but do you think you could help us with the process?"

Warren almost spilled his soda onto his lab coat. His eyes bulged as did his jeans, albeit almost imperceptibly.

"Of course, Max! Anything for you. How can I...help?"

He thought about adding a smiley face with the tongue sticking out, but he remembered how she had adopted her wife's disdain for emojis.

"And I'm much more mature now...Yeah..."

He sat there, beads of sweat dripping down his face, as he death gripped the phone like a mighty kraken with a long chased ship in its tentacles.

She responded quickly, much quicker than she ever had in high school.

"Great! Thanks so much. Be at this address tomorrow at 10 a.m."

Warren's head almost exploded. Veins stood out on his head while he tried to eat lunch.

Graham spent the rest of the day and night researching ways to delay orgasm and various expert techniques. He considered buying Viagra from a dealer, but decided he didn't want to end up in the hospital. Warren settled for a session with his old penis pump then went to bed. He didn't want to be tired for his big day.

As am I, over two years here and I still recognize some of the posters.
I'm also glad that even though newer people have appeared and others have left, that most of them respect the general's heritage and know what it's about. There hasn't been any massive changes from the core beliefs of /lisg/ which are Pricefield, cuteposting, discussions with evidence, and thinking outside of the box.
There were some great discussions and ideas brought up during the run of the game and it's a shame the endings were so predictable and creatively bland and that those final moments of the game have become a major focus of the general while ignoring the rest of the game which was almost all stellar. Hopefully the prequel can return us to those days while still allowing us to keep discussing the characters we already know and love.No matter how many seasons or spin offs, I'll never forget/abandon Max and Chloe.

Mike-Kossi has really come a far way with their art. Their first few images looked very rubbery and abused lens flares. They look really nice and warm now.

Which really isn't asking much of him and he could most likely easily handle once. Both him and Chloe are smart and like science. I could also see them playing games together or Chloe joining Warren's Blackwell tabletop sessions.

I've had numerous dreams involving the ship and in one I saw Max and Chloe rowing in a lifeboat. It was pretty weird even then.

That's their job. An artist using a traditional medium does the same when creating a lifelike image.
Unless you choose to see something special about feet, or any body part, then it doesn't seem awkward or sexual. Same way artists use nude models.

Just think, if they didn't want to make Max barefoot at all then they would need to give her shoes in every scene. Sneakers or boots wouldn't be fitting for when she's waking up and going to shower, so that would mean slippers.
And with how we know Max is, I can only imagine how dorky those would be.

Dorothy was probably shy when they first met the Marshes. So Alice went out to make sure they were safe.

I just woke up from a dream about a life is strange and it was incredible. It was like a movie but still a game or something done in a Disney hand drawn kind of style and it centered on Chloe. It starts in the bathroom right after she's killed and she's watching the whole thing from an out of body perspective. Then this spirit that looks like Nathan appears and offers her a chance to be with Max but at the price of going to hell for 20 years before she can reunite with max. She chooses the hell and we see a nightmarish montage of Chloe being physically and mentally toretured for the 20 years. Then it ends and she wakes up in this crazy alternate Wakfu like world and it seemed like the start of some huge fantasy adventure type story with Chloe as the hero. That was the end of episode 1 and then I came to this general and everyone was freaking out how good it was. then the dream ended.

Then I actually came here and posted this and I sort of can't tell if I'm still dreaming...

Because the setting is similar and Rachel Amber is almost directly lifted from Laura Palmer. Also supernatural shenanigans. I suspect BtS will also reference twin peaks. Twin Peaks actually has a conclusion to the main story that makes sense and is satisfying though. Defiantly watch it, at least until the main story arc is resolved, after that David Lynch left and the network insisted it continue so the story gets really dumb.
