Is it simple? Sure. Is it repetitive? Maybe. Is the Season 3 roster jarring, and the balancing questionable, and the structure unclear? Sure, fine.

We should all be fucking weeping in our chairs right now at the sheer size and scale of the achievement. We should be showering the people behind this thing with the praise they deserve for pulling off one of the most inspiring games in recent memory.

kof13 is, in my opinion, the most honest and enjoyable fighting game i have ever played, and from a purely mechanical perspective it's fantastic but unfortunately the community is now miniscule if you arent either mexican or chinese

SFV is where the best players and best competition is at right now, and i certainly think its an enjoyable game, but its not my favourite from a purely gameplay perspective, but it makes up for that by having such a huge thriving community

i dont think ill understand people who can play ded games with miniscule niche communities, because no matter how good the game is mechanically, you'll never be able to soar to new heights and get to an expert level if you have 15 players in some shitass dead discord to play with over and over again until the end of time

CPT was a monumental undertaking that no other company has even come CLOSE to undertaking.

Lots of communities and players around the world got a spotlight for the first time because of Capcom and SF5. We've reach new heights because of Capcom and SF5...ESPN coverage (TWICE), record setting tourney attendance, excellent stream viewership. Lots of players got shiny new sponsorships this year. All this stuff doesn't just HAPPEN.

It happens with the right development and incentive. It happens because the SF team has been investing in the FGC for YEARS...not just this year, like some of these other fighting game companies who have FINALLY started their own half-assed pro-tours.

You think Capcom takes us for granted? Sometimes we do the same. We've had an entire year of entertainment thanks to CPT, and you didn't have to pay Capcom a cent to participate. Live streams featuring the worlds greatest players almost every week. That's hard to do. They did it. It was awesome.

All those content creators you thanked...part of the reason they did it because they knew there would be interest. That interest is there because Capcom has done a good job growing this scene for the past 8 years. SF5 is an eco system. Every part benefitting from the hard work of every other part. From the players to the makers. And, don't get it twisted, Capcom has been working SUPER hard, too.
