USFIV characters are not all viable. Like I posted a few days ago; the reason you saw a a good variety of characters in USFIV is because it evolved into a counter-pick heavy game. You would see rare characters, but the vast majority of the time it was in a counterpick situation, these characters did not achieve consistent results being played as a main in tournament. USFIV's very large roster size is what led to this.

I don't think this is a cashgrab but I think they adhere too much to the source material (like EVERY character has to have every normal taken directly from the manga and not having enough material blacklists "weaker" characters or not having flight blacklists a lot of DB characters, likely why Tao was deconfirmed). It's not. In GG the initial mix up on wake up is generally stronger, however your pressure after it is much weaker than in BB (although still strong, it's anime). GG's okizeme mix ups are also blown completely out of proportion. The reason why Millia was always the most infamous character in the game was because she was the only character who could get true 50/50 mix ups consistently. Other characters have always had to spend resources to get a 50/50 and/or be in a specific situation (such as corner knockdown + resource etc) to get a strong mix up. This of course all changed when Raven was released.
In BB the initial mix up after knockdown is generally not as strong, however the pressure that precedes it it generally much stronger than in GG. In BB you get more chances to open people up or catch their escape compared to GG, in GG you generally have to make harder reads with a lot of characters to keep them in the corner. BB offense with some characters can be extremely strong just from making them block a 2A, something you don't see often in GG. If Jin makes you block anything, then prepare to be suffocated.
Both games have strong ways to open your opponent up, they just do it in different ways, so really just pick your poison.
