/acg/ in the old days was very hostile, rude, arrogant, almost like the people you meet on Club Tortimer. Schism into the outside chat (primarily skype) groups led to drama that returned to the general. It was a cycle of dumbness, with lots of intolerance in regards to the spectrum of players. Certain communities were shut out of social activities. Others were terrified of interacting with specific users, in fear of having their town vandalized.

There were a specific few who upheld the general kindness that you'd expect to find. They were always willing to help others, even the rude and unworthy. There was also shared-town. Once cheating became a thing in 2014, it really soured the general. By 2015 it was an epidemic, and most of the general was dying thanks also to the influx in trolling. HHD barely brought any new people. Only two people even played AF. Welcome Amiibo was a good transfusion, and helped bring back a lot of people, until like holiday season.

Pokemon is partially to blame for the bleeding (October 2013, November 2014, November 2016) of the /acg/ population. A lot left for /vp/, and never came back. I myself left back to /lgbt/ after growing tired with the repeated trolling that plagued this thread. As well as the fact I was in the process of marrying my husband. Janitors also targeted certain users who called out the troublemakers, serving them frequent and unjust bans. The thread was persistently barraged with zoophilia/porn/kinks, slurs, and every kind of nonsense you'd find elsewhere. Thankfully, all those problematic people are gone. This place has gone back to being a safe space for enjoying AC, without being persecuted for "being adults who happens to have an addiction to a children's game". AC is more than that!

/acg/ is definitely not in the 2013 active days, but it is on a good road to recovery. And certainly better in regards to having a community that isn't soured with social filth.

What's the largest Animal Crossing forum/community/dedicated site? The best one is /acg/ obviously, but what about the largest?

Last AC i played has been Wild World, and i fucking loved it (every time i think about the years passed and the genuine affection toward my villagers i get teary eyed and nostalgic).
If i were to play New Life now, would it be worth it or will a new AC for Switch come out too son for me to enjoy a full year of gameplay at least? (i know the game is basically a year long minimum).
Also, can i obtain every item in the game trough trading with others? Or have there been some items no longer obtainable even by trading?

They probably won't have a new AC out before a year is up from this point. They haven't even announced one for the switch yet. There's a bunch of items that you can't get, but the amount in minimal anyways. If it really bothers you you can hack, but there's not much fun in that.

To give a short answer.
The AC team is working on a mobile game, so we'd be lucky to hear that they even announce AC Switch by the end of next year.
You can catalog items just by picking them up, and then you can drop them again and people generally have a lot of bells, so yeah, you can get most items like that.
For items that aren't you can't order there's the welcome amiibo update that allows you to buy certain furniture from the RVs of special animals by spending MEOW coupons.

That was some English, anon.
Basically NL added an update called welcome amiibo. With it there's an RV campsite.
There you'll find one of the special NPCs like Joan, Wendell, Pavé and the like there who have items in their RV that can be ordered using MEOW coupons, which can be earned by completing daily/weekly tasks or scanning an amiibo once per day. These items are both normal items and unordable items that are usually earned through special events or DLC/region exclusive stuff.
If you scan an amiibo figure then that NPC will also enter the campsite for that day and they'll have some special furniture too. You can also buy unique items, such as the ones available in Animal Crossing Happy Home Academy, from Harvey who sells to two items each day for Meow coupons.
Trading? I'd be very hard to find people who'll give you everything you want, especially un-orderable stuff. So don't count on it. But people will be willing to give you orderable stuff for free. Here, at least.

Playing AF, all around the busywork type of games I'd liked but never saw done as well as Animal Crossing.

Depends on what's happening/how far into it you are/current life events. If you have free time and are planning placements, it can be an absolute 10. But other times it can falter, esp. if you have an old/launch town.

The need and want to make progress, see your town to be the very best, have the best friends in it, busywork in general.

It's very laid back in how you play it. As long as you play a while a day, around 20 mins, you could still get in on it.

I saw videos of PixxelTrixx playing it on YouTube maybe a year ago. It's a lame way to get into games, but for once, it worked. I've been hooked since.

8/10. It really depends on how lucky you get when you first start, if you like the town aesthetic and the neighbors. My first neighbors were Nan, Pinky, and Lobo in WW and I loved them to bits.

Being able to live a comfortable life in a home you could never dream to have in real life. And also talking to my neighbors. Makes me feel like I actually have friends.

If they like home simulators, I suppose. It's a game made to be played when you like comfort, bit by bit, day by day. It's relaxing when played like this.

I would warn them about the game punishing you for not playing it, though. I can't tell you how many times this game broke my heart by having a villager I loved move away while I was hiatus. Or when my precious hybrids I worked so long to get suddenly disappeared during my absence. Sure, NL added an ordinance to prevent the latter, but I can't predict when I'll just stop playing. Plus, I like pulling the weeds every day.

My father always gave my sister and I magazine subscriptions for our birthdays. He'd get me a 1-year sub for Nintendo Power and Lego Mania (I hated Legos). My sister got Disney Adventures and Nickelodeon Magazine. I saw an article in Nintendo Power in August 2002 (had Mickey Mouse on the cover), and it had a 10 page journal/log of the game. Looked neat and reminded me of the Sims. That was back when I had a dumpster Windows 98 desktop and would scream every time the Sims crashed it. Funny enough, I had gotten a GC for Christmas the prior year but didn't really even want it. I barely touched it until I got Animal Crossing in September.

11. I've been playing this shit for 15 years. EVERY single game. I even bought those DSi apps that were literally a fucking calculator and a clock with AC characters slapped onto them.

The ability to relate more with anthropomorphic animals with quirky personalities than real humans. My roommates care more about updating their social media and finding a fuck buddy. I care more about making sure I'm on time to villager meetings so our friendship isn't fucked. Or making sure I check the stalk market before noon.

The game itself is kind of hard to attract newbies to, unless it is released as a semi-launch title. All the previous games came out relatively early in their respective console's life. So they benefited greatly from that. Switch is still too new, and obviously there's no Switch game in development atm. So just release an Animal Crossing Go with a Pokemon Amie-like extension where you can clothe, feed, bathe, and do whatever with your villager. NEETs would love it, normies would love it, /acg/ would hate it. And the Switch game would get a million pre-orders guaranteed.

Give it a go, it's comfy as fuck. Pretty much what I said to some friends who laughed at me for playing it and I think they wound up more in to it than I did. Got my copy of NL as a present from one of them, actually. It's nice to have a game so calm and innocent until a tarantula chases you and it instantly becomes more terrifying than dedicated horror games

It she puts her stuff in retail then just fill up the flea market with your own stuff.
Then you just need to make sure that you or no one else sends her any furniture or clothes.
